here's a sidebar question:

Does playing superman put some kind of curse or jinx on your acting career?

it seems that everybody who's ever been cast in the role either never goes on to anything else, bigger or broader, or they're just one hit wonders as superman and are never seen or heard from again?

i mean dean cain is basically a lifetime movie actor, and i like him alot but he's probably C-list at best.

tom welling is super hot and talented and should have blown up huge by now, but he's stuck and typecast in smallville and the few movies he's been in have been box office disasters.

christopher reeve's biggest role after superman was just becoming the poster boy for parapalegics, maybe even his life was cursed by playing superman?

I'd think if you were plotting an acting career you'd choose a batman role over superman, cuz all of those guys have become box office gold (well maybe not chris o'donnell) but u get what i mean

Yes indeed! Funny and boner-inducing!

Ehhhhh, for some people. Being straight, don't see it in that way. But as far as his acting and characters, even his voice, I find that I can watch the shows he's in and laugh at his comedic work, which is what Hollywood is after.

Tom Welling is very good and nice to look at too.

Dean Caine gets some brownie points for being gay.

Christopher Reeve was good, kind of lent a role of mystery to it. He's mysterious, friendly, but...mercurical...

About that Dean Cain being gay comment, do u know something that we don't?:thinking:

George Reeves (how can we forget him?!)

You can't. George Reeves was not the first, but he had the Man of Steel thing down. For many fans, every other Superman is compared to Reeves.

Kirk Alyn was the first Superman to make the silver screen in serials. I've seen a few of these and he was actually pretty good. More athletic than Reeves but not so otherworldly as the Supermans to follow.

personally i think it mostly just wishful thinking and flames fanned by that broken hearts thing he did, but i suspect he's str8.
