This topic actually came up in a car forum I'm on. The thread starter, an American himself, was in the military and stationed in Europe. He had nothing but good things to say about most European women he'd met and how their attitudes are better. The thread went on for 230 posts, and hardly anybody refuted the original premise.
Including the French???

I know it's all personal preference but having lived in Thailand and seen much of the "The East" I can honestly say that Thai girls are the last on my list of Asian women I'd lust after, for many reasons.

The difference between the women (physically & attitude) is amazing, and you can see this in somewhere like Hong Kong where the Chinese, Filipino & Thai girls are all in a small area. It takes a certain type of man to date a Thai woman I find, and i'm not talking bar girls or hookers.

Personal preference is something like

Japanese (by a country mile)
Chinese
Korean
Filipino
.
.
.
.
.
.
Thai
OK you want Japanese

Actually, I'm not sure if the French came up in that thread. I mostly remember German and Eastern European women being mentioned most often, also including some Italian and Spanish.

When you are going to an Asian country make sure you are getting a real woman and not a trans!

Thailand - you never know what you are getting. Look out for that adams apple.

There were some nice looking ladyboy hookers in Seattle when I lived there. Fooled me a couple of times driving by on the street where they were advertising. I thought they were hot and my friend tells me they're men. Jeepers!!!

LOL ... spotting a trans is still pretty obvious no matter what unless you are drunk then you might end up in a ho ho land. :biggrin1:

Be a good observant, use your head up there not the head down there.

Spotting transvestite in Thailand is easy for some very good reasons .

1) THEY WILL ALWAYS TELL YOU ! If anyone says they were tricked this is total BS. Any "trickery" would rain down hell on the bar and bad press and arguments for a bar is very very bad for business. It's just not going to happen.

2) IF (and thats a very big if) they don't tell you, the other girls will

3) The Thai ladyboys normally have a good sized height difference on the girls

4) They dress far to slutty ! It's still a guys take on what a "sexy" woman should be like.

And they wear a lot more makeup, thai girls wear only enough makeup and many times no lipstick, not so with the LB.

Big hands. Thai and fillipina girls have small hands.

Also most times the LB and real girls are in separate bars, although you can occassionally find them together.

LB are much more agressive. The girls will be forward, the LB can be downright pushy.

Hell they have bigger mouths, so maybe you can get a better bj if it does happen, just don't turn over...lol

I'm a white man and I am attracted to some asian women but that is not the only type of woman who I am into. I really like Latin women especially if they are thin. I am not into fat or obese Puerto Rican women.

Hahaha... Those observations of ladyboys in Bangkock reminds me of the Travel Channel show with Dhani Jones in Thaliand. He gets hit on by these hookers, one of whom is very aggressive. After he turns 'her' down and she walks off he says " I think that was a guy. Her feet were bigger than mine.":biggrin1:

No, I just know it for what it is. I have some thai friends who hate to see all the foreigners going over there for sex and all the rampant AIDS. As far as they're concerned, foreigners are ruining their country. But it takes two to tango, so to speak.

I have had some massages from questionable genders before though, where they darken the room so it's hard to see. No sex though, only HJs. I can live with that. j/k. I'm sure they were all women.

And Bangcock should be the correct spelling. It fits.

Just to put it in perspective. Thailand and the US have had almost the same number of AIDS deaths since statistics have been kept, about 600,00. However for 2007, the US had 65,000 reported cases and Thailand had 12,000. So you need to temper the hysteria of your friends with some facts. Is that still too high, absolutely, but is also too high in the US.

As for tourists ruining Thailand, if it weren't for tourists, Thailand would be even poorer than it is. Tourism is Thailand's number one industry. The sex industry started to really grow 50 years ago with the Vietnam war, so it is not a new thing.

Now if were so bad the government would shut it down. I believe the government knows how the Thai economy would collapse if they started enforcing the actual laws, which are on the books.

In Thai culture the children take care of the parents. The average income for Thailand, per the US State Depratment, is 3,700 a year. I am betting in the north it is closer to 1,000. A girl can earn 300 to 600 a week if she is good and pretty. It may not sound right, but it is the truth, that in one month she can earn as much, if not more, than her entire family can earn in a year. Many of these girls send a significant portion of their earnings back to their parents.

This is a real threadjack, but I had to responde to something I believe is wrong.

You are basing your entire statement on anecdotal stories from a few natives and the sensationalism that drives our media. Until you actually visit and see some of the beautiful sites such as The Grand Palace, the reclining Buddha and Wat Arun in Bangkok, you are only speaking of second hand knowledge and should temper your views.

After I come back from the Sunday errands I will post back on topic.

Your friends in Thailand got real issues. BIG time. I am assuming your friends are Thai people.

I am not in the position to say you are wrong about this but bear in mind you do have to understand a fact also.

Basically if your friends, their brothers, father, father-in-law, cousins, uncles, friends, friends of friends etc never went to prostitutes, the Thai prostitution industry would fall by 90% overnight. With no customers there would be no prostitution. Instead of paying to take advantage of a poor rural girl just give her the money or give it to charity to help women. This would also fit with their Buddhist religion.

Get the message now? It's a problem mainly due to Thai men in Thai society. Thai men are best placed to do something about it. Stop blaming "rich westerners" and take some responsibility for their own actions, those of their family and those of your fellow Thais. Once you've sorted out the 90%+ of the problem due to Thais perhaps then focus on the foreigner element. When you get to that stage I also have a few ideas too.

P/S "For what I have read so far, you seem too deep-rooted in your culture that everything that you had learned afterward has become a hindrance to advancement .... Again, that could be my mis-understanding!"

If I ever visited Thailand, I'd find something else to do because the threat of disease scares the hell out of me. BBC's Top Gear sent their boys on a challenge to travel the length of Vietnam, and it looks like it would be fascinating. I know that Thailand isn't Vietnam, but at least they're next to each other --

Part 1 of 8 (yes, it's a long episode, but worth it):
