Who are you, ktownblondie ?

carolinacurious: No, No, no jackpot! What's going on here? Am I living in a parallel universe. Am I going crazy?

First, let me say, I just barely care anymore. I didn't start this thing and I never would have found it but having had it pointed out to me I don't like seeing someone's identity stolen.

PhotoShopping a different message on a graphic doesn't change the majority of the content of the picture.

Searching, K-town could be a reference to Kelowna. Very small town. Basically, K's a rare letter, so any town beginning with K will probably be called K-town. Kingston and Knoxville are both also called K-town.

NO, jonb, you're missing it. The problem is not "K-Town", except that there really is a KTownBlondie that this picture and screenname belongs to. The "K-Town" wasn't changed!

The problem is when other people on this board expressed doubt in the validity of the pictures, our Ktown took a picture that had already been used on another site: "Rate my Body",( where to indicate that this picture had actually been intended for "RMB", the user, K-Town, took an index card and put a message specifically for "RMB" and put the index card in the picture) and then photoshopped the RMB photograph to make it appear that "she" had prepared a special photograph for LPSG (by changing (PHOTOSHOPPING) RMB to LPSG and by cropping out the RMB "watermark") to satisfy all the "haters" here. No "Ktown", no change in Ktown!, that is not the issue.

This is the very heart of dishonesty! (or extreme laziness) This is what dishonesty is.

I ask, Surferboy, JeepwranglerBoi, DoubleMeat, would YOU like it if someone came up to you and said, "Man, I can't believe what you said on site 'x.com'." You say, "I've never been to or even heard of the site". They say, "Oh, it was you, It was your picture!". You say, "Well, I've had a problem with people stealing my picture before." They say, "Oh it was you! It was your picture AND your Screenname!". You say, "Shit!, I guess they stole my name too." They say, "Shuuure, they did. Man, what an ass, goes around the net saying outrageous things and then won't even own up to them."

The problem, here, for KTown is even larger. She is a very beautiful woman, living in an identifiable city and the sort of attention this could draw could be worse than someone just wanting to express an opinion about something that was said.

I don't know how to lay it out any better than this (and my previous post). I don't know why this doesn't bother people. If someone can show me what I'M not seeing I'm interested.

Um - "Jackpot!" was not judgemental, carolina, it simply referred to the fact that jonb's Googling had been successful in determining the K in Ktown.

That's possible, I'll admit.

I would still being willing to bet she's not who she said she was. I think the fact that she hasn't responded, after posting so much before, is a pretty good indicator. If people were saying this about me, I'd definately speak up in my defense.

Actually, we should also consider the possibility that she is, even at age 17, simply not willing to dignify this thread with a response and has beasically said the big "F You" to this site and those who have nothing better to do than debate her identity.

She may simply have better things to do...and I don't blame her. Our loss.

Actually, No, that's not a possibility that I even have to consider.

If you would read and understand my previous posts you would see that you needn't consider it either.

The only person who has lost anything here is the REAL KTownBlondy who has had her identity misappropriated.

If our "KTown" is the REAL "KTown" then she can:

1. Thank me for being concerned for her safety.

2. Explain why, when she felt it necessary to post a picture here with the caption: "to shut up all the haters that want me to post a pic with a sign", found it easier to photoshop a picture of herself rather than just take a new picture, and assuming her camera was broken and/or she was out of index cards she also found it easier to download a picture of 'HERSELF' and crop out a "watermark" rather than go back to HER OWN ORIGINAL that would have had no watermark and should have been easier to photoshop.

I hope she's the real ktown. Either way, I have missed seeing her around the past couple days. Just seeing her avatar while I'm reading through the threads tends to make me happier.

While I'd totally not like people talkin smack in my name, I still say people need to get over their hang ups. I, personally, think this is about self image. "How dare there be a good looking person out there!" Which is why I think you singled me, Jeepie, and DMW.

Unbelievable. Yes, I guess this really is all about me and my self image problem.

No.

The three of you were singled out BECAUSE YOUR FACE IS IN YOUR AVATAR!

You and DMW have the additional distinction of criticising the_french_h for making his allegation while seemingly not understanding what the actual allegation was.

Then what do you care about someone else's picture?

It's not just the picture, it's the picture and the name, it's the identity.

I also don't like people "talking smack" in other people's names. I don't like the fact that the REAL KTown isn't here to defend herself. I didn't like the fact that so many were criticising the_french_h when it was obvious that they didn't understand what he was trying to point out.

I thought if I tried to help people understand what the_french had actually pointed out they might see it otherwise. Now I don't know what to think.

I can't believe that I'm getting criticised because I'm showing concern for a young lady who is having her identity abused.

I called him out because he's already this same exact topic. And who are you to say the the KTown on here isn't the KTown on other sites? I think it's wrong to be all hating on her because you have a hunch. As for you, I'm being critical of you for jumping to conclusions.

Yes, he posted this topic before and it was misunderstood in exactly the same way.

I haven't said it isn't the same Ktown, I think I've bent over backwards to leave room open for some explanation.

edit: Well, yes I have. I meant to always pose it as a possibility. I got frustrated. Sorry. As I've said before, the real Ktown is welcome to come back and explain the quote I've posed below. Maybe her camera was broken, her hard drive had crashed (causing the loss of her original image) and she's a photoshop wiz. I don't know.

I have a hunch the sun will come up tomorrow.

Yes, of course, how could I have been so stupid? Looking at the evidence and making an informed decision, how dare I do such a thing? Surely that's so much worse than all the people who jumped on the_french_h without having a clue as to what he was saying!

I apologize to everyone here for my degree in Philosophy and my insistence on exercising Logic.

Look, Surferboy, I generally enjoy your posts and am glad you are here. I haven't enjoyed this thread, I don't enjoy arguing with you and I don't like where this thread is going.

I have said before:

I don't care if people have "fun" with their online identities. I don't care if someone says they are something they are not. I DO care if they say they are SOME OTHER REAL PERSON! It's not right, I can't believe that it's necessary for me to explain this.

I did not start this. I never would have started this. I'm more interested in GUYS. I don't feel betrayed by KTown because I don't remember ever really having much to do with her while she was posting.
on edit: And therefore I have no personal vendetta against the person who posts on this board as KTown.

I got into this because I didn't think what was happening to the_french_h, and potentially to the "REAL" KTown was right.

add on edit: If people hadn't jumped on the_french_h AND obviously not understood just what he was trying to point out I never would have posted on either of these threads.

Sorry for all this mess. I just found normal to inform everybody about what I've found, and this was (and still is) clear to me : somebody, that is not her, uses altered ktownblondie pics...
Everybody can have his own perception/understanding/judgement on this fact, but it's really clear and obvious.

I' m maybe too much concerned because I've seen y pics under several names on the web.

PS: I'm also sorry for my terrible grammar !

Well yeah looks like it is someone using her pics, which is sad and it can do the real person harm, even in real life, if people know her, I bet she has friends that use the same sites etc. Anyway, why someone would pretend to be a person they aren't online is a serious matter. I'm not concerning myself with it, just saying

Yeah, this AIM member and military history professor at University of Arizona had the same problem. Turns out that one of his many flame-war opponents, one Ruel Macaraeg, posted as him on a swingers' site.

All I could think of was "Heeeey, Macaraeg! Aaayyyyy!"
