Just wondering. As our circumstances change so often in our lives with intermingled relationships and such.

I don't wish to leave a mess behind and think it maybe prudent if you have not....maybe you should...

Anyone out there who have staved of placing on paper vivisection of their encumbrance to the aforementioned? :)

Dark...

The happy face just adds to it.

Interesting question though. I have been thinking about it lately though because of some significant life changes.

It's pretty sobering.
It is, because ya just never know, I hear of so much crap that happens with things.

I have. Last year, I came within a day of dying. It really woke me up to how unprepared I was for everything. So I’ve really started getting things in order. From updating beneficiaries to funeral requests. It takes a lot of work but it’s worth it. I do not want to live my loved ones with a mess of any kind.

I've had will, living will and funerary arrangements on file with lawyers (as I have switched lawyers over time) and updated for decades now... right down to who collects the body and where my ashes will be spread. Recent changes have added accounts and disbursements--routine stuff.

Haven't yet decided who will carve my bust, tho. ;)

Yes. I've had a living will since I was 30 and am a full body donor. If there are any personal effects left they will go to my sisters. Once MedCure is done with my body the ashes go to my sister and will be scattered over Kingman, AZ. I want no fuss for my family to deal with and care nothing about a funeral, obit, etc.

As a financial planner, I approve of this topic! You forgot power's of attorney though, which is arguably more important. You don't want to be locked out of access to financial accounts or making medical decisions for a loved one who's become incapacitated because you don't have the proper paperwork in place.

3 documents per person. Will, financial POA, medical POA.

Oh geez, we have wills, trusts, durable POAs, living wills, the list is massive. We had them reviewed and updated only recently. It's a morbid ritual but so very necessary.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th will. I update it every so often. I've fixed all my retirement account designation of beneficiary forms. Take care of it to ensure things go the way you want them too.
