I personally have never much understood ejaculating on a partner's face, but it's so popular in pornography I've started hearing stories from women of boyfriends who were obsessed with doing it, as if it were the standard way to finish.

I'm sure this practice has been around since the beginning of time, along with ejaculating on every other human body part and inanimate, or animate, object imaginable, but who made it so popular? Is there some 1970's porn star that started doing it and everybody just liked it? Also, is it as common in gay pornography as straight pornography?

I'm one who thinks it's basically a degrading practice. Not that it necessarily is between two or more consenting partners, just that it's use in pornography (at least, straight pornography) seems to have a lot more to do with degrading the woman by putting her in a supplicant position and shooting fluids on the most visible and recognizable component of her person.

I dunno who invented it but it doesn't bother me one way or the other - I'm into gay porn and facials are at least as big in that genre as any other. So it's definitely not just a "degrading the woman" thing. Plenty of dudes are getting sprayed in the face too. Whether or not any of these men or women feel "degraded" you can't know without asking them - but don't let that stop you from believing it's degrading to women if you want to .

Bukkake was invented by Solomon Gruberdorf in 1860 B.C. Solomon was quite worried about the idea of betraying his not so lovely wife Gristla (nee-Bergersheir) Grubendorf. I don't agree with this. I don't think the porn industry was responding to universal demand for facials. I think they created most of the demand. Seems more likely that facials are popular because of widespread sexism than because that's what gives you a hard-on. If porn actors were ejaculating wherever they felt like that might make sense, but so often they make a point to get it right in her face.

I don't see female porn stars jumping in the way of semen streams to try to improve their complexion, I see male porn stars withdrawing from elsewhere to make sure the girl gets hit in the face. Even if the story you've told is true, it doesn't really answer the question of why facials are so universally popular in pornography.

Actually, that's how I feel about rimming...was introduced to the concept by Falcon Studios (a major gay studio since the early 80s and FWIW, they did a LOT of guy-on-guy facials back then too).

I don't think it's a vast dark conspiracy. Sexism is built into the way we're raised and some people, obviously exhibit a lot more of it than others. But what of the adolescent boys out there who see it every time? What happens to them when they grow up and find out women don't usually appreciate it? What happens to the young women who think there's something wrong with THEM because they're not into it?

But if it's also common in gay porn. It still may be about exerting sexual dominance over a weaker partner. I don't know.

I'd still just like to know who got it started in the industry, because I somehow doubt you're going to dig up 19th century daguerreotypes of the practice.

What you've just done is openly admit that you get sexually aroused by seeing women be degraded. All this does is support my point further. I mean, it's one thing to consider men superior to women, it is quite another to GET OFF ON IT. I agree with Abaco - when you look at str8 porn it's def. a move to degrade women or at least enforce a level of control, and more puzzling it seems so very clear to me that most women in porn really don't enjoy it and thus overcompensate for the camera, which just makes matters even more obvious and sad.
