- b.c.,
Okay, this thread was kinda done before (in '08 -only 4 replies), but the missus and I were discussing this recently while watching a rather interesting James Bond special on T.V. (it dealt with Fleming's background, the producers, how they met, the whole bit), and I looked up some sites that have various ratings (or that allow you to rate) the best Bond. See:

So I thought this time I'd set up a poll and restrict the topic to which Bond is your favorite, and maybe you can tell us why. Here's mine:
1. Sir Sean Connery: The guy had it all, but mostly that sarcastic dry wit in the face of danger and the look of a guy who's seen and done it all. Iconic in every respect.
2. Tie - George Lazenby / Pierce Brosnan: Lazenby had the look too. The accent, pretty much total package. Too bad he got all big headed and screwed his own career (as he himself admitted). Brosnan got more Bond-like the older he got. In age he achieved that "weathered", hardened look, growing into the part.
3. Daniel Craig: I haven't seen Skyfall as of this writing, but the other two, though high on plot and action, somehow left me still wanting of belief in Craig as Bond, rather than Craig doing Bond, if that makes any sense.
4. Timothy Dalton: Okay I guess. "The Living Daylights" was an excellent film (so was the score) but his Bond was too sappy, too romantic, cared too much.
5. Roger Moore. What can I say... Simon Templar doing Bond shtick - slapstick style. Never liked him.
