Who's to blame if you aren't successful?

"Don't blame Wall Street, don’t blame the big banks, if you don’t have a job and you’re not rich, blame yourself. It is not someone’s fault if they succeeded, it is someone’s fault if they failed." --Herman Cain

Isnt that exactly why someone just organised a demonstration, to go out and do something about the problem?

That's a bit like saying it's your fault if you fall off a ladder when someone kicks it out from under you.

If you fall on the guy that kicks the ladder out from under you; should he sue you for falling on him?

WTF is wrong with you liberals????

What good does it do you or anyone else to sit around and blame anybody else for why you dont have a job??? The point is, even if its not your fault that you are unemployed, marching around wall street, not taking a bath, blaming everyone else in the world is not going to do a DAMN thing to correct your situation.

These idiots are out there blaming banks???? banks??? Do you idiots even know what banks do????

If you have to find boogey man to make you feel better, take a look at the federal reserve.

Mounting protests can be a very effective way of correcting situations. Consider the civil rights movement. Or the outcry against the Vietnam War. Or recent events in the Middle East.

Holding Wall Street executives accountable for what they did to our economy is a way of making sure the same thing doesn't happen again.

Any number of ways. Prosecution and imprisonment of those who defrauded the public. Greater regulation and oversight of financial markets. Reform of the political system to reduce the influence of crony capitalism.

None of it happens overnight. But it all starts with a raised awareness of the problem--which is what these protests help bring about.

No one is getting prosecuted because of the wall street demonstrations.

Regulatory reform has already happened and that is 1 big reason why the economy is at a stand still.

what does crony capitolism have to do with a poor economy and joblessness?

Not directly, no. If it happens at all (and I admit it's doubtful at this point), it will be because enough of a public outcry makes it politically expedient. That's where the protests come in.

One very watered down regulatory reform bill was passed, most of which hasn't been implemented yet. It's not enough to prevent the abuses it set out to correct, let alone have a significant effect on the economy as a whole.

Crony capitalism has increasingly shaped Washington economic policy, prompting the thirty years of steady deregulation that contributed to the financial collapse.

By the way, were you this pessimistic about the value of protests when the Tea Party was out in force?

Just a heads up- Obama and Pelosi have both put their support behind the protestors.
Obama received the biggest campaign donation ever from Wall Street.
    Useful idiots.

    "Useful idiots".

Who? Wall Street for donating so much to President Obama who, in the end, still didn't lend his support?

    Oh.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if "useful idiots" was meant to be the protestors, Wall Street, Obama and Pelosi, or just . . . everybody.

But hey, at least it's nice to be useful.
