Female for me is Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock, Susan Sarandon, Taraji P. Henson ... probably because they have the ability to go from humour to dramatic.

Male....is between Matt Damon, Denzel, Ryan Reynolds, have similar abilities. Morgan Freeman is another.

Denzel does the sort of superhuman thing in the Equalizer...

Yes, mainstream, but good entertainment.

It's strange but I don't like most mainstream actors. I might have liked them before they made it but once they turn mainstream, the special aura is gone...
Happened o be channel surfing the other night...there was a piece I caught the tail end of about Jennifer Lawrence and fashion gurus. Okay, she is a modern day actor, but she can wear pretty much anything and it looks good.

I'm not a Guru when it comes to fashion, but the little bit I happen to see, she wears well. Also, her acting isn't too bad either.

Actors of my era...well, as far as acting the part, Dame Judy Dench, Meryl Streep on occasion, Bruce Willis and for the late ones....Robyn Williams, the latter because he could play the humour, heartbreaker, drama, thriller...and then bring a tear to your eye. Sam Neil is another.

Actors like Goldblum that have the same nuances to their performance don't cut it for me.

There are many, but hey, it was just a question to keep forums going rather than how big, long, round, deep.............:)
