Google, Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary have almost eliminated the need to ask any question, to anyone, about anything, ever.

A lot of people don't like sifting through thousands of results that aren't what you're looking for to find the three that are. Wouldn't be a problem for some of the examples you named but if the person didn't know who that was then they couldn't know how easy they'd be to look up.
