Many American voters are not educated and well-informed enough to vote for president at this time in our history. The country is in bad shape, but many will cast a ballot, as we saw in 2010, on the basis of frustration or other emotion and with simplistic ideas in their heads.

As old Winston Churchill stated: "Democracy is the worst form of government devised by the mind of man, except for all of the others."

So what form of gov. do you suggest since we are sheep being lead to slater? Churchhill was smart enough to realize that the U.S. could save his ass...good move on his part.

What I'm suggesting is that American voters need to be better educated and informed, to make our republican (small "r") form of government operate optimally.

Yes, we need the continuity that his reelection will provide. He need more time! I would suggest a third term like was done with Democrat Roosevelt who got this country out of the last great depression! To hell with the Republicans and their big business only survives agenda!

I will happily vote for him -- again -- considering the current Republican House's behavior and the uninspiring GOP members who claim they are running for their party's nomination.
Michelle Bachmann or Mittens Romney? Don't think so. And what did Newt's staff know that we don't which caused them to resign en masse? I would, however, vote for Eisenhower . . . but he's dead.

Currently, there isn't an alternative candidate running for president that has a viable plan for our country and how to move it forward. Everyone wants to talk about how bad Obama is (and even I know he isn't perfect), however, all they do is talk smack and attack his character. Meanwhile not a single one of them have a real plan for our nation and our economy that makes any sense (or haven't been proven to be more damaging than good). I couldn't careless what any opponent of Obama personally thinks of him. I already knew before he was elected how much he's hated in certain groups. Give me a candidate with a real plan to save our economy, create jobs and repair personal relations between different social groups... otherwise, step aside.

No way! He hasn't done anything!

I have 8 pages of accomplishments from the President and the Democrats from 2009 through April of 2011. I THINK I got it from a website entitled "what the fuck has Obama done?" I'd rather post the link -- but I don't have it -- just the hard copy pages.

I only say this: I would trust the Democrats to be in power to work for the little guy 1,000% more than I ever would the Republicans. The Republicans have done nothing but stand in the way of everything Obama has proposed. He just got done saying in his news conference, "THEY proposed it......and once I got on board -- they voted AGAINST their OWN proposal!! IF the American people fall for the bullcrap the Republicans hand us --- and they will have a lot of money to sling --- we will deserve whatever it is they enact: More corporate welfare; less taxes for the wealthy; the middle class incomes shrinking; more outsourcing of jobs; the potential for more BP oil spill disasters AND a conservative SOCIAL agenda (just listen to how they even TALK about gays!! You only need to look at Maine, Michigan, Florida, Wisconsin, New Jersey -- where a majority of voters now have "buyers remorse" for electing Republican Governors in their states in 2010! If they take the Senate in 2012 -- God help us ALL in the kind of legislation they will push through! Always the hidden agenda -- always the hidden agenda --- ALWAYS the hidden agenda!

I'm not too wild about him, but I'm really not particularly wild about many politicians. I'll probably wind up voting for him again, as his stances are closer to my own, and the Republicans' potential candidates (except perhaps Romney) come off as rather extreme.

I need to point something out. What president throws his country under the bus? Saying how we have mistreated the world. We need to conform basically. What future president goes to Europe while campaining?

One that pays attention to foreign relations. Wild guess.

That tells me alot about the persons loyalty to this country.

It shows me that he's willing to not live under the illusion that our country is the only one in existence or matters. Maintaining positive relationships with our overseas allies is essential to maintaining stability in our own. Someone who is truly loyal to their country's survival knows this and acts accordingly.

I absolutely will. The crop of Republicans are total loons. However lets be realistic the Democrats are total wimps. The Republicans are willing to die and impoverish the country for what they believe and indeed we are well on our way there. The dems well much less so. And what ends up happening is they consistently makes 'deals' with the total wackos vastly diminishing whatever they hoped to gain.

WOW.... my comments are totally ignored....question...how many posting have a job and people to support? That's the real world....

Then you need to join the real world ---- in the last election I watched MSNBC's Chris Matthew's ask every Republican he interviewed just what minimum wage was and NONE of them knew --- NONE of them!! Wonder why????? And for the 6 years THEY had the Presidency and both Houses of Congress --- just where was THEIR health care plan for the 40+ million Americans who had none? How come THEY raised the debt limit to $9 Trillion Dollars and allowed GW to conduct wars in 2 places WITHOUT raising taxes -- AND conveniently eliminating the costs as part of their budget!! The real world huh????

As always I will vote third party. People sadly accept politicans for lying or not completing campaign promises, I can't. I don't even know who I'll vote for third party this time, but I'll find someone.

And that third party member will also lie and make campaign promises that they can't keep. And so will the fourth, the fifth and every other party we can find to shake things up. This is what politicians do regardless of the affiliation and you know this. The only thing more parties will enable is the possibility of a more honest discussion since there are more players in the game vying for the same prize. That doesn't guarantee that the third party will be the better choice, since the last time a "party" tried to emerge from the rubble that is (D) or (R) was the par-TEA... and I don't think I need to go into major detail as to how loony many of these people turned out.

Until we have real reform in our electoral process, one that balances the playing field so that voices can be properly heard by everyone, voting third party during a presidential election is a waste of time. It may have personal symbolic importance, making you feel better that you didn't vote for the corrupted two-party system that dominates the airwaves, but we all know a third party candidate cannot win in this current political climate without the money & the right high profile connections to back them. And sadly, the few who could run as Independents and make things interesting are too afraid (or too greedy for campaign funds) to shed the (D) or the (R) and really stand out. That's why Ron Paul will never win and why Romney will most likely disappear altogether if by chance the rabid ideologues are able to push someone as crazy as Bachmann (or convince Perry or Christie) to step into the forefront.
