I was trying to convey if Allie was breaking it off because she wanted children and he did not, before making a definate NO decision, she might consider undergoing fertility testing as she might not bear able to bear children.
Wouldn't it be a shame if she made a decision about not being with the guy and it turned out children were not in her future anyway? (Assuming adoption was also ruled out for whatever reason).

wvalady1968: Sometimes you have to lose something to realize how very important it is. Having children has been a dream, but it just isn't worth having to live without this really, really great guy. Thankfully, he feels the same.
I don't want to change him and I don't want to force him to do anything he doesn't want to do, especially nothing as critical as another life. It's taken me 34 years to find this kind of love [yes, love]. I can't give it up for a pipe dream.
I don't know where it'll go or what will happen. We're just gonna take it a day at a time.
