This evening I caught a bit of an Entertainment Tonight piece on presidential endorsements. I heard that Oprah, Streisand, and Whitaker were working on behalf of Obama, and also mention of names supporting McCain.

So curious to know who's endorsing whom I looked up these lists which I found interesting (and in some cases surprising):

List of John McCain presidential campaign endorsements - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stephen Baldwin and the New York Post. Those were surprises.

I wonder if Alec ever speaks to him now?

The NJEA is endorsing Barack Obama. Since the New Jersey Education Association is one of the most powerful unions in the country that should give Obama a nice boost.

John Thain, the CEO of Merill Lynch. O how the mighty have fallen. Perhaps now John McCain realizes that the economic crisis is not a figment of the imagination.

The Highest-Paid CEOs Of 2007: AP

The Highest-Paid CEOs Of 2007: AP

The 10 highest-paid CEOs for 2007 at Standard & Poor's 500 companies based on calculations by The Associated Press. The total pay figures are rounded, and are based on the AP's compensation formula, which adds up salary, perks, bonuses, above-market interest on pay set aside for later, and company estimates for the value of stock options and stock awards on the day they were granted last year.
1. Larry Ellison, Oracle Corp., $84.6 million
2. John Thain, Merrill Lynch & Co., $83.1 million

Jon Cryer? Robert Duvall? Gary Sinese? Norm fucking McDonald?

If you put all of the Republican actor supporters together in a movie... it would REALLY suck!!!!

I can't figure out Gary and Robert though...

OMG!!!! Barack's list is fucking four times as long as McCain's!!!!

McCain has no academics, no writers, or economists... what the hell does that say about McCain?

McCain also has NO labor unions, NO labor leaders and union officials, absolutely NO social and political activists and NO environmental organizations.

What does this say about McCain?

Barack's list of entertainers is basically everybody except for the country fuckwads from Nashville.

Unions, Actors, Environmentalists, Activists, etc

These are the most vilified and hated people in America. Put them together and it galvanizes the general public against them all. You can have them. We have what REALLY counts - masses of intelligent, independent thinking voters, who aren't going to listen to those egotistical blowhards. Patriotic voters that will help McCain win the White House are smart enough to know that these groups have agendas that hurt America. That is why we don't want those groups. It just makes it look like Obama himself is going to hurt America.

You'd be surprised how many people believe that kind of shit. That's because they've been brainwashed by right wing conservative propaganda that (as he correctly stated) villifies and preaches hatred for labor unions, actors, environmentalists, minorities, Jews, gays, liberals, free-choice advocates, and anything or anyone else (i.e. "THOSE" people..) whose ideology is contrary to theirs.

Maybe if they turned off Limbaugh and actually got out a little more...
