Yes! Military parades are also designed to be a deterrent to potential attackers.

Oh do me a favour, military parades are just a device to make the person, usually on a high ego trip, taking the salute look big, to boast about having the biggest of everything.
Washington doesn't need a parade, if they want to have a deterrent them just send them the president - he'd deter anybody!

the odd thing is that this is a man who only wants fake news which is why he promotes "the memo" as clearing his name of any involvement with the Russians and yet withholds the Democrats version on the grounds it is a security risk.
One coin with two sides, in his case a double sided coin.
A bit like his tax returns 0 what's good for the goose doesn't have to be good for the gander.

It will be interesting to see how media evolves after Trump, he seems to be turning US politics into a TV/Twitter reality show that people are desperate to watch whether it be to see him impeached or to watch him drain the swamp.

I also wonder what will happen to his cheerleader channels, they seem to be gaining in popularity, what if it turns out he's worse than the swamp and betrays their confidence? Interesting times!

That's exactly why we disagree so much here, the mainstream media has lied a lot in the past and most politicians should never be trusted, the majority are paid liars.

I don't rely on anyone, due to trust issues
I trust my intuition and discernment about news stories so if something doesn't feel right or has conflicting info I'll look elsewhere for confirmation. I have a preference for independant journalists who seek the truth, if I appear right wing, it's because the right use facts to support ideas in debates. It is a very successful tactic compared to the more emotional approach of the left when trying to convince others.
Just so you know I don't dismiss the left leaning media altogether, although the 2 year long, Trump hatefest has become tiresome and is draining their credibility in my opinion.

Over the years, I've seen more than enough instances of the right using distortions or outright lies to get their way; we're still seeing it now. So I'm afraid I can't share your confidence.
