Liberals are tougher than conservatives. They're willing to accept reality, which can be a very scary proposition for some.

I have yet to see a single story where Maddow lied or misled viewers. The few times she has erred she has always corrected the record. Limbaugh is like Trump - he lies only when he opens his mouth. Limbaugh lives on hyperbole and fear along with distortion as his basic tools of the trade. I look forward to any documentable proof of the same about Maddow. Before the lying begins, Alez Jones, Breitbart and any Murdoch controlled media are not valid sources. Carry on.

The title of this thread is sort of funny..conservatives pretentious? The thing is cons always talk about how liberals act "elite" or are pretentious and that they are somehow the salt of the earth. I think the conservative are intimidated by educated people, or people that are not like them..its scary to them whether its gays..or HS students that are articulate and well spoken. Why else would they rag on HS kids who just experienced a horrible act of violence and are doing something to try and stop it. Or why do conservatives try and stop gays from getting married or why they wont serve them in their businesses...its like the 60s when a business wouldnt serve blacks. They are scared, they are intimidated, they cant relate to people not like them. Its sad really.

Mate don't we bloody know it? To give some extra context, I am one of the 4.5 million citizens who ended up on the wrong side of the English Channel and Irish Sea after this bollocksy self-ingratiating brexit fantasy. These selfish bastards literally did sell 1.2 million of their own citizens down the river (I got to this country with virtually no bureaucracy whatsoever, had healthcare rights in it upon arrival and could vote in supranational elections that ironically are more democratic than in my home country), all because they were a bit uncomfortable with vital NHS employees and critical agricultural/hospitality workers "talking foreign" in the street and "stealing our jobs and fings" and "sovereignty and bureaucrats and fings" (for goodness sake something like a third of the countries celebrate their independence from the UK and the country was the one of the three most powerful countries within the EU that decided the shots anyway). Not only did they turn the country into an international laughing stock and likely will cause a recession (which half the people that voted for this bollocks will be dead long before they see the full picture of it), and all they have to show for it is a shiny blue passport (that no one under the age of 40 in the UK can remember ever having and ironically will be printed in France).

Sorry for the rant but needed to be said, plus absolute empathy and solidarity with you lot against Mango Mussolini (it's the exact same bollocks, just different soundbites).

I did enjoy seeing a slanted question and then of course the follow pile on. This is how you’re going to make people see your side?

From my perspective someone who is conservative, the Republicans sucks and the democrats blow. But a few thoughts.

Do conservatives care about other people? Of course which is why I give to charity and volunteer. I just don’t believe that it should be the government’s job, I don’t believe it’s compassion when it is forced compassion. I don’t agree with evangelicals who think they’re holy and crap because I have seen too many mega churches where the donations don’t go to helping people.

I believe the government is responsible for equality of opportunity however not equality of outcome. Opportunity is taking away hurdles of societal structure. Hiring practices which are discrimination in nature comes to mind. Equality of outcome, which is disagree with is saying that the society is obligated to ensure someone is successful and if need be take an opportunity away from one person to give to another in the guise of fairness.

I strongly believe in consent. Consent is everything to include a woman’s right to an abortion. However, I believe that many on the left believe in consent however only consent when it works for them. For example they don’t believe in consent in economic transactions.

Gun control is where i differ from some NRA. I believe a back ground check is of course needed and basic controls should be used to keep weapons out of the hands of those who we can all agree shouldn't have weapons where as it is from my perspective many on the left want to ban weapons.

Just some food for thought.
