I'm sat in a pub in Bristol. I arrived early, the bus arrived on time for the first time ever...

Anyway, I walk in and order my drink and the random not drunk guy stood next to me with his wife starts asking me to hi five, because it is so good being alive.

Now I'd chalk this up to just being a random nut, but shut like this happens every time I enter a pub... Anything from random comments that make no sense, to straight women cornering me in the tiolets to talk about my breasts.

Is this normal, I certainly lack pub experience, or do I just attract nuts?

I'm not kiddinf, this lot make you lot look normal!

well maybe you have particularly impressive breasts. (dont take that wrong, I'm gay)

You Lot? surely if youre here posting you mean 'us lot'. Us lot are simply that lot but with internet. So which lot goes into a pub....where you meet people... to post on the internet? Us lot admit to our wierdness here, but I bet most of us are just as ordinary as the rest of the pub lot in real life. Modern society is about admitting our oddities?

I think people have a different frame of mind when they enter a pub, or bar in the U.S.. The normal world put aside. Hickboy had a good point what are you wearing? That can cause issues because of the msg it sends. Not that I know anything about that.
But the girls in the bathroom please expand on that. All are waiting to hear....haha

try a coffeehouse. i hate bars/pubs for that very reason.
the world is full of drunk idiots.

they all seem to LOVE life and see the party that i can't hear either.

they also "really" love each other and it aint the
booze talkin' they really really love each other. for real.

avoid them, you need to get fart spray or snort, snorting scares everyone.

I dunno, sounds like a nice sort of random to me, not a creepy random. It's the out of the ordinary which makes things and life a wee bit more interesting. Hum drum random is what it is, boring and forgetworthy. One day we'll all be old people sitting in a rocker, waiting eagerly for anyone to say hi.

I'd love for a random dude to come up and ask for a high five! :) I'm really social, it's fun to converse with people!

I was kicked out from a club some nights ago because they thought I was too drunk (I wasn't, come ooooon), but while outside I started to just talk with some random girls, it's easy to start up conversations ;D I even got her number, lol. Oh, if I was straight.. ;P

Isn't the pub the social institution that holds your country together?

Not that I ever hung out in pubs much, if ever, night clubs dancing yes...But Acee's post would probably go some way to proving that, it's ok for a stranger to come up to one on the internet, say something nice, maybe a little odd but not disturbing. But be taken aback when it happens or said in public life.

Mmmm, yes, perhaps you need to lay down upon zee couch and tell more about zis dishturbink behaviour.
