Why are so many British guys Circumcised?

I've lived in london 10 years, used several different gyms in different areas, and have researched thoroughly enough (!) to report that hardly any guys are cut.
Only British born non Jewish guys I know who are cut it's because they can't retract their foreskin. As far as i can tell most Europeans living here are not cut either. If it's a guy who is cut, in my experience, he's probably American.

While having not seen any in person, I can attest that I am (pleasantly) surprised when I do find a guy from the UK on cam who is cut(I cam daily) Most have been uncut by my experience(which is why I actually came to this discussion, I was like "Oh, I guess I had it wrong" but clearly I didn't lol)

I live in the South Wales valleys and of the men, who frequent my gym: I'd say about half have been circumcised. All of them are Welsh; none are Jews/Muslims and all are aged between 18 and 40. When speaking with other lads my age (mid 30s), it is surprising how common circumcision is, in this area: with many of my mates (whom I have known since childhood) having been cut, either in their late teens or as adults.

That is quite surprising. Given the NHS does not do this withour reason, is there a local private clinic specialising in circumcisions, or is there perhaps a genetic disposition to some problem? Or might one wonder whether there has been a rogue local doctor sending off patients to be circumcised?

My experience, including London saunas and Uk nudist beaches is that very few are circumcised.

I'm British and cut. I was circumsised when I was about 18 as my foreskin became too tight to retract. From my experience at the gym and swimming pool it's rare in the UK but I may be wrong.

Not the Muslims I know. All the ones I know, whether Egyptians, Iranians etc. are done at birth. Perhaps this is something common culturally in your particular circle but remember Muslims are from diverse ethnic backgrounds and not monolithic.

My exprience of either sports or saunas in London is that I seldom saw cut guys. It occurs that in a sauna where generally you see guys seeking sex and horny, they are quite likely to already be aroused and showing some head. This might even apply to changing at sporting events. I remember once the changing rooms being invaded by a lot of very annoying footballers, (annoying because they were dumping mud everywhere from thir boots), one of whom stood around a lot with a very large cock. that would be head showing. However he was a black guy, and i have known a number of black guys whose cocks naturally point down when hard. I'm sure this guy was making the most of it and loitering as long as he could with a hard on, but just looking hugely hung because it naturally pointed down. Being hard, he would naturally have foreskin drawn back. So maybe if the guys you socialise with while changing are the sort who are busy eyeing up each others cocks, they may be the sort who are already getting hard.

My view that most are uncut includes guys of apparent non-white origins. Of course, this might be different in areas of high particular ethnic groups, but quite honestly religion is pretty low key in the Uk, and I think the trend is for religious rites to be quietly dropped.

Indeed. Somwhere was a thread asking people to give their foreskin length and say how much it drew back when erect. Quite a variety. Yours though has a distinct curve upwards which would give the game away?

As far as I know, Iranians (who are Shia), Egyptians and Pakistanis (who are both Sunnis) and Lebanese Muslims are all done at birth similar (but not exactly) to the Torah/Old Testament. If the Turks are done later in boyhood as a rite of passage, I can only assume that this barbarism might explain in part why they had no problem committing some of the atrocities done by the Ottoman Empire.(and which they have never been held to account).

As an American who has used several gyms in London with open showers, I've generally found that I'm the only or one of few guys with a cut dick. It's enough of a novelty, that I catch more than a few glances. I once even had a guy ask me if I was American in the shower. Since I hadn't yet spoken, I knew it couldn't be the accent and asked how he knew. He playfully glanced down, and I responded..."yeah...I guess that does give it away."

This bloke has been posting ridiculous posts like this for years. In spite of his Jewish surname, he says he made up his own mind to be cut. He posts his misinformation for his own poor psychological needs, but the fact is that the circumcision rate among non-Muslim and non-Jewish men in the UK is going down, not up, for the simple reason that the National Health won't do it without medical or religious necessity, and sees it as completely unnecessary. The day when upperclass UK men were regularly circumcised is long past, and had mainly to do with service in the Empire in tropical climes. Part of my heritage is an old county British family. None of my generation was circumcised, and we are all thankful.

its really weird to see how confrontational many uncut guys are about their status and how forceful they are on guys that are HAPPILY circumcised. I've yet to see a malicious and confrontational cut guy force circumcision values on other guys. I'm starting to wonder whether these uncut guys are actually happy being uncut or if they are jealous..... I'm over the moon to be cut. Fuck I'd go passed that and say in my own world I love every single aspect of it and it's only enhanced my life. To have uncut guy screem mutany and mutilation makes me laugh out loud.

I get a kick riling them up! I was in London a few years ago, stayed at the St Giles Hotel, which is located above a local YMCA. They had a pool, I got a great price on the room, everyone was happy. I was very happy showering after my swim. I figured that maybe I'd see a cut Brit, maybe even 2. Big surprise! Most of the guys were indeed Cavaliers, but surprisingly, there were a lot of Round Heads in the audience. And most did not look like Middle Eastern cousins. I was really, really surprised - I thought a cut dick in Britain was as easy to find as hens' teeth. This whole thread is a bit of a surprise, with the number of guys who haven't seen American Dick. Same in several of the charming gay saunas the city has to offer. Most of the guys have their skins (hey, even I like a little variety now and then), but many more than I would have expected don't. Maybe it's just me or my luck. I can't say circumcision is alive and well in the UK, but it certainly is not extinct. Now as for Bill and Harry, hmmm. I like to think they are both cut.
