The only things that drew me to LPSG is that my friends were here and the guy who was causing me more distress than he was worth wasn't here and had long been permabanned.
I stay for the same reasons. Very little of the sites core appeals to me personally and that's ok. I scroll through and read a lot, post when there's something of interest to me and that's that.
I value sites like this that exist for open sexual discussions as well as simple friendly banter.

That's really interesting. I also think this site has always had a very simple interface and organization that makes it easy to find and post to things that are of interest. So you already had friends that were here? That's interesing too. Why were they here do you think?
I can't even begin to assume why they joined. I wouldn't want to speak for any of them. If they want their reasons to be known, I'm sure they'll speak for themselves.

You do know this started as satire, right? On the plight of the poor, poor, pitiful honking schlong Ed members of the human race? A weird set of communities grew from that.
As the site had grew, it needed to monetize, and it became what it is now.
I don’t think it had the obvious commercial porn sections early on.
Longer term members can speak to that.
it seems to me, and it might merely be attention direction on my part, that the “minor celebrity” aspect is new.
Like most, just stumbled upon the site looking for large dick ( dating) advice. I stayed for the awesome community—the friendships made have transcended from virtual to- in person.
