I thought it was because he's not black. Only half black. I understand the enthusiasm over him becoming president but the way black people (at least most of the one's I know-which is alot) act over it is starting to irritate me. Yea, I guess it's a moral victory, but there's not to much promising after that. I'm getting sick of watching people get all starry eyed and drooling at his image. I turned on sportscenter this morning ( since that's basically the news for me ) , and the first thing I heard, before the picture came on all the way, was OBAMA. Now c'mon, I turn to espn to get away from that. /end rant.

Anyway, someone said this to me yesterday and it's one of teh dumbest things I ever heard, ( talking about Obama ) " He's not black, he's half black and half Muslim ". I still chuckle when I repeat that to myself.

I have always liked Hillary but there are still so many that hate her for not knowing “her place.” That’s right folks, many but not all people who hate Hillary Clinton hate her not for her politics; but for not being a traditional First Lady. She was supposed to host parties and spend too much money on dishes and draperies. Heck, some people in Arkansas never got over her hyphenating her name! She used to be Hillary Rodham-Clinton. They thought she was a feminist, and viewed that as a bad thing.

I realize to people outside the United States this may sound silly, stupid, etc. But it’s the truth, it is what it is.

I agree with NJs OG post. In the end, the only way Obama was elected was because the past 8 years were SO bad. To all the racists out there...HAHA, this is what you get for electing an incompetant fundamentalist "cowboy" from Connecticut.

That said, the weight of the entire free world weighs on Obama's shoulders. And he shows no signs of cracking under the pressure. Which I find sort of amazing. Capitalism was never going to last forever...and those neocon policies of the past 40 and especially last 8 years have made sure that the system is on a crash course with failure, just like Uncle Joe who can no longer keep up with his huge debt payments for buying 3 cars he can't afford, the United States WILL have to pay back it's debts eventually.

But Obama may be able to save this system. Somehow. For the second time. FDR did it in the 30's. That is the position liberal politics serves in this country...throw the people a little socialism so that the system does not get overthrown by the discontent especially in times of inevitable financial collapse.

Nevertheless Obama is a breath of fresh air.

Don't get me started brother. I am not into socialism. I just know that we are going down a shitty path that is going to result in possible bloodshed. Or global government. Obama is doing what they are telling him to do to save the system. That is the system that you agree to work for when you go to work. You don't like taxes? don't fucking work. Learn to support yourself. What happened to the spirit of you guys in the South? You were the backbone of the nation. The yeoman farmer. The independant man who would never let the government tell him how to live. Now look at you, working in an office or wherever you work bitching about taxes. Don't like it..don't work. Don't buy stuff. We need water. We need food. We need shelter. That's it. Everythign else is extraneous.

But nah,,,we all buy into the greed. So now Uncle Chang is asking for his money. And we gotta pay, oh boy do we gotta pay.

And the powers that be know that if these institutions fail, we may not be able to pay for a long, long time. Obama is doing what he can. It will be a matter of time before he realizes he needs to do something vastly different. Perhaps he will start handing out money to people like you when you end up needing help. Cutting taxes might help the people, but ultimately the problem is capitalism, and Obama is fucking things up by trying to perpetuate a defunct system. He may try lots of radical things that you haven't even dreamed of yet, And even then, they probably will not work. As I said months ago, nothing is gonna fix this situation. We made our beds, now we gotta lie in them!

BTW, I saw your post about thinking a depression is coming by March 09, and I totally agree with you, but it was coming no matter who was in office. You want to spin it like Obama is somehow causing the tailspin that may end America as we know it starting this month. That is a crock. I am sorry, but it is. All the presidents after Eisenhower are to blame for this mess.

I wish to high hell that we could give you the president you want..let's say it's McCain, or Pat Buchanan or Jore Lindal, whatever that guy from Louisiana is named..I wish we could put one of those guys in office and have them do exactly what you say, all you people who are trying to turn the blame for this mess onto Obama. Cut taxes, decrease spending, whatever other tricks you think is gonna somehow stimulate us out of this mess, and see where the fuck we are in 6 months. Not only will we be in a depression...but you wont have welfare or city protection to feed or protect your family when the hungry dogs come out in the street. Obama is better for the transition into global government. And that is probably why the powers that be felt ok to let him make it this far.
