It looks a bit like Custer's last stand.
Old World order:- US
New World order:- us
Haha, clever analogy, Drifter.
But that's not the case.
And the capitalization is priceless. Asshole.
Let's put it this way [late 1800's]:
Mr. A comes into town when things are good. Parasitic lunatics paralyze the town. Mr. A takes a position in which the lunatics will be brought to justice, and other lunatics will be disarmed before they are able to perpetrate the same type of paralysis on the town. All the townspeople cheer in unison.
Mr. A's term ends.
Mr. B comes into town when the gold rush ends, business is tough, and other towns are in the same predicament of tough business and anxious people due to the ending of the gold rush.
Mr. B is a fast talking salesman that promises more gold for his townspeople and unlimited gifts of gold to the other towns.
It sounds great to all towns until....they find out there is no more gold.
Why rational people don't care for Obama.
Rational people would never stoop to the use of strawmen to make their arguments.
take that up with the OP
Why on earth would anyone do that?
I like to pit liberals against one another.:biggrin1:
You'll have to try better than that, dear...
And the townspeople do a postmortem on Mr. A's term.
He didn't bring many lunatics to justice.
His methods so antagonized people that many of them moved into Mr. A's idea of the lunatic box.
So finally there were more lunatics facing the townspeople.
He spent so much money, so foolishly, on bringing them peeps to justice, that the treasury was entirely out of kilter. Guns but less butter than anyone realized.
And not much justice.
No one gained except, arguably, the ever-replenishing pool of lunatics.
But this is funny gold. It comes and goes in accord with work, trust and thrift.
It has come and gone many times.
It will come back, as it always has.
When? No one knows.
But Mr. B is lucky.
Most of the town is still listening to him.
Most other towns are led by people singing from the same hymnbook.
And above all, he has time ... still lots of it.
Mr. A will be forever a joke.
We don't quite know yet what the future holds of Mr. B, but it's far too early to call the glass half empty.
Rational people know that many rational people care for Obama, just as many rational people don't.
This is called range of opinion.
Rational people call it part of life.
US, as in USA.
us, as in us, all of us.
I am not sure that you got my point.
rarely gets the point, surprised he did'nt start talking about teapot dome.
This is what happened when the thoroughly discredited, wildly unpopular Mr. A, whose lies to the people of the town had led them into a disastrous war and whose economic policies had nearly bankrupted them, finally left:
And this is what happens when "pitted" liberals get together:
'Morning, star. Hope you're about to have a good day. A lot of people are going to try to prevent it.
Yes. I know. That was mildly clever.
I put asshole in there because of the Custer's last stand remark.
And there aren't any conservatives that I know that would hate Obama if he brought international peace and cohesion. For the record, its the spending and phony posturing that stirs the ire.
That's interesting, because hundreds of billions spent on a couple boondoggles of wars against ideologies hasn't seemed to raise it...and even though phony posturing is endemic to pols on both sides of the political divide, it doesn't seem to stir that ire when it's their own party doing it.
Oh, it did.
Sorry Star, but this is indicative of your silly "american conservative" attitude that it is you and only you running around like Super Man saving the planet. The point is, and dumbass liberals know it, that global partnership is the future. Your old USA USA is history.
Hate Obama for it, bore us with your incessant constiapting of this section, and salute Custer as you go down with the sunset.
Custer got what he deserved.
Maybe Bush and Cheney will too.
That won't happen until one single Obamabot admits to one single fault and can stand up for his/her own convictions on how rancid of one act Obama has started out... otherwise, it's still looking 110% perfect in these parts.
I see Qaadafi and Castro like him a lot... that should be a barometer we should all measure accordingly. I think Chavez is already dissing him... wonder how Sean Penn feels about that, and which side he's on...
I think Obama appeals to the idealism in people. It's usually that way with populist types. People don't want to know anything negative about any idol. For example: Martin Luther King, John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, etc.
Global "partnership" is an interesting concept. I wonder how the Greek people whose land has all been bought up by Germans feel about that? Or Icelanders?
It feels like even continental "partnership" in Europe hasn't been the blazing success we'd all hoped it would be.
I truly wonder if the "New World Order" ("One World Order"?) is really in our best interest. And by "our", I mean all of us.
When you say global partnership, do you mean politically, economically, or both?
I see liberals cheering for global economic unity from one side of the mouth, and condemning NAFTA from the other.
How can they want a 'global' economy and at the same time complain that we are 'shipping jobs overseas?'
We have a pres. with no economic or business background whatsoever. Is he going to 'ship jobs overseas' or 'promote/encourage a harmonious global economy.'
I'm all for free trade and a global economy. And I think Drifter is misinformed if he believes that conservatives are against that idea economically.
Politically, you can sit down and talk and talk and talk to the likes of Chavez, Ahmed., Castro 7 days a week. It is a waste of time.
Do you guys really think that no President has tried to extend an olive branch to these types of fucks for the last fifty years? And now Hero Obama just came up with the idea?
Its ridiculous. It is impossible to make diplomatic progress with these people. WASTE OF TIME. Soon, all we see just how ineffective it is.
Hey, give it a try. Appease the bleeding heart libs. I'm all for that.
