I tried fending off my attraction towarda men at age 12. I really really tried to be straight, watch straight porn etc. But that effort failed miserably ane Im still gay as ever.

Sexuality is not a choice, it is not a preference, it is not a "lifestyle" (whatever that is meant to mean!), it is not a sin - it's a perfectly normal and natural part of humanity, like height, hair/eye colour right/left handedness, etc. OP, if you ever do read this, I hope you learn something from your ignorant ways...

I believe in the religion I follow but have a very hard time following it when it comes to my sexuality.

I didn't choose to become gay literally speaking, I believe I was born gay. I remember having sexual desires and feelings as early as the age of 6 or 7, no shit. Those desires weren't hardcore like sucking or fucking, but were real and definitely homosexual.

I did live a straight lifestyle by choice for many years, then in singleness after a divorce I chose to embrace my true sexuality.

But, I believe I was born gay. It happens.

This Is a fairly put question. However I believe sexual identifcation and sexual orientation is not something that is all that cut and dried. Its complex, & varies from individual to individual.

This is such an interesting topic always about choosing to be gay.. I will say that after so many years of struggling with my inner desires and feelings the times of unhappiness as they grew and I chose to act and be with another man i changed to being bi it still did not make me feel complete i did not choose to feel like this with a wife and two great kids i still had desires now only for men I did not choose to have this inner feeling but I did choose to accept myself and chose to act on them to be gay and be happy
