I looked it up on the CDC webpage and since some women have no symptoms at all I would guess that it is fairly common. My question is this, I have read that women have extra clear/white stuff (WildHoney calls it "wet silk" on her blog) about the time that they are ovulating to make it easier for sperm to reach the egg. How can you tell the difference between the two?
It's not dangerous. It's normal to have bacteria in your vag. Certain kinds in the right amount can produce that white foamy/pasty stuff during sex. Particularly if the PH levels of your cooch have been disrupted by intercourse... during certain times of your monthly cycle, or lots of it, or with a new partner... If this happens to you it's treatable but not really worth it unless it bothers you. About as dangerous as the bacteria in your armpits... maybe it smells funny but it's not going to kill you.
I'm extremely prone to cystitis and at one point had a series of swabs to find out if there was any underlying cause, during the chat with the gynecologist he told me there were vast numbers of women suffering from lowgrade infections who weren't even aware of it.
