Oh boy... it’s times like these when I wish I was not gay. I’m so over the gay community and their cliques. Too many gay men correlate their appearance with their self worth and dismiss anyone that deviates from that idea.

Funny, the reverse has been the case for, well, forever. Fat guys have been shamed forever. Skinny guys have been shamed. Now muscular guys are getting their turn. It's hardly an epidemic, and nothing really new.

I'm not saying it's right of them to shame the fit guys but..

Holy shit do fat gay men get the most horrible comments by gay men, especially the muscular fit ones. We get death wishes and insults just for existing. Its a standard to place "NO FATS" on gay profiles. I guess some fat men are fed up and lashing back.

You find this kind of behavior everywhere. People have a particular insecurity; rather than dealing with their insecurity they attempt to drag the antithesis of their insecurity down to their level or lower to validate themselves.
You said it perfectly. It's a pervasive quality, and can be found everywhere.

I didn't know that they did. I would guess out of jealousy or insecurities because the gay community (men anyway) is so critical about looks, clothing, etc. I thought that I was bullied in high school for being gay, but it really was nothing compared to how I was treated by a large portion of the gay community when I move to NYC. I was 19 and not fat, but I guess I wasn't wearing the right clothes or acting the right way or something. I was like, "Seriously! Aren't we supposed to stick together?" I didn't expect so many to be so superficial.

I've seen a lot more muscular and fit guys body shame fat guys than I have seen the reverse. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but in my experience and from what I've seen, it's usually the other way around. But, either way, body shaming of any type is wrong. Whether someone is fat, slim, muscular or somewhere in between, they shouldn't be made to feel bad about their body in any context

It goes both ways.

At the end of the day, it's one insecure person trying to lower someone else, so they can try to feel better about themselves.

This extends to anything, really. Race, weight, financial income, education.. preferred sports team :p

Body positivity. It's a thing. Love who you are, and what you are. Unless, of course, if you are a serial killer, or a Leafs fan.

I like chunky lesbian porn, but not lesbian porn featuring skinny women. Skinny women - no matter how beautiful - don't make my dick hard. Nothing I can do about it. Why do we care in the first place?

I don't think bodybuilders are sexy at all. Not jealous at all.

I would rather watch a decent-looking chunky dude with a super big dick in my fantasies.

There are some people who fetishize certain physical attributes to the point that they become a caricature of that thing they most admire. There are muscular gay men who go beyond what's needed to be merely muscular and take it to yet another level. Those folks may well be pretty easy to caricature. But I would submit that larger gay men have been caricatured for every bit as long, if not longer. Indeed, even the title of this thread refers to "fat" men, as if skinny men can't make fun of "musclebound" "meathead" "beefcake" "gymrats," and in turn the "beanpoles" "twiggy" "twinks" can also catcall "tubby" "lardass" "chubs." My point is that people like what they like, they aren't attracted to other types, and in a perfect world people would focus on the former and STFU about the latter. But some "fat" men will sneer at "gymrats," and get called "tubby" right back. None of this should be news to anyone. Assholes are gonna asshole, regardless of size or shape.
