Why do I feel like I'm the only woman in the world to not wear make-up?

Guys are always like this, "I love it when women don't wear makeup, like her." He points to a woman wearing makeup all over her face.

Yeah When we say that we usually just mean less makeup, or at least no visible makeup.
As long as you don't look like you're a cast member of jersey shore it's fine.

I don't wear much makeup because I've got freckles... Id look like a freak with too much on...

Plus, I don't know if it's just me but I feel more self conscience if I wear too much because something is bound to smear...

Word man less is more when it comes to make up the less make up a woman wears the more attractive they are

I think there are two main forms of ideal makeup:

1. Statement makeup - as in, "Wow! Your makeup is amazing!" (said without irony), e.g. http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lgiiedepuk1qeixg8o1_500.png

2. Makeup that you don't notice someone wearing, because it complements their natural features, instead of bludgeoning them into submission and then burying them under a roughly finished patio of burnt umber foundation.

there have been times when i've taken eyeliner to a personality disorder level of abuse. layered on daily.. to achieve a look somewhere between Mike Ness and a depressed racoon wearing too much eyeliner.

daily.. no make up. can't stand the feel of face make up. is all smother-y to me flesh.

exceptions... comic/syfy cons/halloween. the "wow" factor.

girl drag for dress up.... i have strong features. a lil, urm, emphasizing goes a long-long-long way. thankfully i know women who are willing to help keep me from hitting slut-clown.

Lol, my ex said that about JLo...

:lmao:

A lot of guys really can't tell. She is so gorgeous, but I don't think she ever leaves the house without wearing makeup!

I'm reminded of a slideshow called "Celebs ‘Without Makeup’ Who Are Clearly Wearing Makeup" I would link to it but Kloe Kardashian is holding a baby in one of the photos, so you'll have to Google it if you want to see it.

Day to day I wear no make up and but a 30+ sunblock.
Pity I didn't care more about applying it when I was younger and I have a bit of sun damage on my upper chest.

When I go out during the day time I go for a moisturizer and a light mineral power that's almost exactly to my skin tone and matt lipstick that is very close to my natural lip color.
Eyeshadow will be a dark brown to bring out the green of my eyes.

Evening the coverage is more sophisticated and I favor smokey eyes, three layers of mascara and dark red lipstick.
I never wear nail polish because I have a nasty habit of picking at it esp. when I get bored.

I wish more women wouldn't wear make up (or at the very least tone it down).
Only below average / average looking women wear lots and lots of make up...

I agree with zyz
I know many women that wear little to no make up and they look fine
Sometime I see women that wear so much make up they look like a parrot blew up in their face and those are probably the women that don't need make up
reminds me of this see attcment

It seems like every female these days wears some kind of make-up.... I kinda feel silly and left out for choosing to go "au naturel" haha. :/ But I just don't think it's needed for me I guess... Plus, I enjoy sleep too much  Any other gal not wear make-up here?

I was smiling at your post because....what does sleep have to do with make up??? lol

I wear very little. Simple eye make up and some of that cream for under the eyes. I love that stuff. I work long hours, and found I was getting dark circles. Now I could have slept more....or bought this stuff! I did a bit of both. But really, I only wear more make up when I go out. I can be ready to go in 1/2 an hour from wake up to out the door! :biggrin1:

Ah, yes, I just read all the posts and saw that!!! Sorry, long, long day. Well, I was really laughing at the men saying they don't like make up. I think they mean what some of them outlined, the over used make up look. I go for natural, just enhance. I can't see wearing something drastic. I'd be afraid everyone was staring at me for the big blue blob on my cheek or something. :)

I can't believe this book is still available. I met her about the same time this book came out so many years ago.(I have an autographed copy BTW) She really summed it up. Cover up your flaws and accentuate your best features but don't paint on a new face... she has loads of good advice. I wish she would write another book focusing on life after an uncertain age.

I used to feel naked without a foundation, but like ClassAct since I moved to Florida it seems lip gloss is all I need most of the time. And I usually always have something on my lips.

I still like to get dolled up when we go out, and when meeting a prospective client I'll do my eyes and maybe a little blush. But if I'm removing kitchen cabinets I will definitely be au naturale.

The subs that I work with always get a kick out of how different I look in the office and when I'm wearing jeans.
