Why do I feel like I'm the only woman in the world to not wear make-up?

I like to look as natural as possible...I do like to wear a little make-up though.

A little foundation to smooth out tones but I like to accent my eyes. Being a blonde my lashes are very light and without a little masscara it doesn't look like I have any :) then a little gloss (no lipstick)

I do wear makeup. Usually lipstick, some blush. I have perm eyeliner done so I don't have to do that.
When I go out, I'll add mascara and maybe some eye shadow.

Someone recommended a new make up on
qvc, it's called ' IT cosmetics' and the lipstick stays on for 8-10 hours. It is very creamy, not dry like some long lasting lipsticks.
They have some nice colors, but one I like looks the color of chap stick in the tube, and the tube says ' vitality lip flush', it does look like it would be lite, but it changes to a warm pink.
I ordered their powder blush in pale mauve. I'm very fair and I can't use some colors because they just look to dark.

So, I know some of you guys don't care about makeup....so skip this part!

I wear make-up. I've been known to put on my makeup on cam. I don't garish unless I'm going out to a club, or if it's Halloween or Sex Play Night. Hubby and I like to role play about twice a month, and depending on the costume is the makeup I put on. For example, if it's Geisha night, yeah I put on Geisha makeup, full white face and painted bottom lip.

I think I was a drag queen in a previous life.....

Same here, some should at least tone it down. Doesn't always seems necessary, there are places where so much makeup doesn't look right, like the gym or the grocery store :biggrin1:

Just wondering, do you grill the women to find out if they put make up on before they went to the gym/supermarket, or if they put it on for their activities?

I agree, a load of slap for a mundane activity isn't always appropriate, but I know that if I went to the gym after about 6.30am, I'd be wearing make up.

Another point - there's always a certain level of defensive justification when it comes to make up use. Why is that?

Y'all are probably not interested in a guy's perspective, but I'll give one anyway :biggrin1:

Seeing a girl with makeup gives me the "Look but don't touch" impression. I'm always freaked out every time I kiss any girl wearing makeup. Either the fear of messing it up or getting some on me.

My wife gets thinks that deep down I think I'll have an estrogen rush if I get any makeup on me.

It seems like every female these days wears some kind of make-up.... I kinda feel silly and left out for choosing to go "au naturel" haha. :/ But I just don't think it's needed for me I guess... Plus, I enjoy sleep too much  Any other gal not wear make-up here?

I only started wearing it a few months ago because Sir required it. Before that I had worn it only four times in my entire teenage and adult life (and only one of those times was by my own choice).

there have been times when i've taken eyeliner to a personality disorder level of abuse. layered on daily.. to achieve a look somewhere between Mike Ness and a depressed racoon wearing too much eyeliner.

i have strong features. a lil, urm, emphasizing goes a long-long-long way. thankfully i know women who are willing to help keep me from hitting slut-clown.

Oh this is sooooo me!!!! I have this thing for REALLY black eye makeup. I joke that it's my inner punk at fault. Depressed raccoon describes my look pretty well .

Mind you, slut-clown comes even closer . I don't mind the slut part so much, and I HOPE I'm not getting too close to the clown side, but to be honest, I don't know enough about makeup to figure out where the line is, and I find it terribly hard to see myself as anything but weird once I've got makeup on. I just don't look like me.

Despite being well aware of all the above (and being aware of that deep set eyes and dark eye makeup probably don't work well together), I can't seem to resist picking up the black stuff every single bloody time .

Lol subgirrl! An easy rule to stick to if you wanna avoid the 'clown' look is either play up the eyes or the mouth - not both. If you favour smoky eyes, keep the lips neutral or if you're a fan of dark lippy keep the rest neutral. I'm a smoky eyes, pale lip gloss girl myself - just suits my face better.

Gigglesnort...

You do what works for you. You do what makes YOU feel best about yourself. If swimming upstream and being different from the pack by not wearing makeup is what makes you feel great when you look in the mirror then do it!

I see my face as a canvas where I can express my mood and artistic skills. I wear it for myself and it makes me feel great when I look in the mirror. I went to school for makeup artistry and skin care and some people honestly can pull off no makeup really well.

Show off those freckles girlcakes! Just be YOU. ;)

You would be amazed at what some models and actors look like without makeup flattering lighting and advanced filming techniques.

:yes(1):

It's usually the underlying structure that agencies can work with. Just like before buying or renovating a property, if the structure is sound then good things can be achieved...With the body it's usually height, bones, shape etc. Any blemishes etc can be covered with a bit of paint :)...Not as much as Kiss though :)

I think there are a couple of things going on here. Men who think 'make up' means that Jersey Shore look and women who think anything cosmetic on their face is 'make up.' Two very different extremes.

I doubt most men could tell I wear any make up at all. I don't Jersey Shore it. I simply use it to highlight and tone down.

My thing with makeup is that I appreciate when a woman applies it skillfully/artfully.
That might entail the application of a considerable amount or it might be nothing at all. But the crucial thing is that it "works" for her. I am definitely in the camp that generally favors the "minimalist" look (even if it's achieved with a ton of grease and elbow grease), but at the end of the day the resolution of THE MAKEUP ISSUE really comes down to "it depends". My take.

Less is more with make up

There is a girl I know who only wears eye shadow but looks like a completely different person without it

Its almost disturbing

Guys are always like this, "I love it when women don't wear makeup, like her." He points to a woman wearing makeup all over her face.

lol..I love that. Guys do say that dont they? "you dont need makeup" but I swear when I dont wear makeup my bf says I look tired. In fact a sign of good makeup to me is looking as if you dont wear makeup. I do correct color imperfections and I enhance my eyes but I certainly dont pile it on or wear lipstick or heavy powder.

I say if you dont want to wear it ..don't! If you feel good about yourself thats great.
