As a college wrestler I know all about being grabbed in the crotch. It is part of the sport the easiest way to lift a person is between the legs it allows you to lift more and get them to mat where you will be able to pin them. I grab my opponents balls sometimes if I need them to move to where I want them. In wrestling you only have a limited amount of time to try to score back points or to get a pin.

I do MMA...accidents happen, I get hit a lot in the groin; I usually have a bruise somewhere on my dick. Doesn't bother me anymore.

The gut, solar plexus, and floating ribs are very strong points of attack, and since a knee is physically located below the abdomen, body shots with a knee will obviously come from below. Shots below the belt are against the rules in virtually all licensed competitive sports, and repeat offenses will get a fighter disqualified. The dirty fighters that do try to take cheap shots do so to win, for an attempt at a competitive advantage, because the balls are a HUGE weak point.
