Why do we all want what we can't have?

I am very doubtful that anyone would envy me. I wish I had millions of dollars! I envy your mechanical ability and adeptness at fixing things

That's learned behavior. Most anybody wanting to learn to repair things can.

I had a guy tell me on the job yesterday, that he would trade for some of my ability. I asked him what he would trade me for it. He said rather quickly: "maybe I'd better keep what I have, I don't want to go through another 30 years of this world". He was 72 years old, and I guess he was tired of this mess. I was very interested in what he would be willing to trade me. I don't suspect he would have traded anything, at any age.

I guess when we, as I am, are dissatisfied with our lives in general, it's easy to find things we want to have. The grass is always greener, you know...

I guess if I could have anything I want, health would be high on the list.
Happiness, and confidence would be close behind.
