That's an easy one.

It's the same reason they like white or brown or yellow or red guys.....

Dr. Dilznick I don't know why you've got such a hard on against me but in my part of the country there are two type of people of color. There are black people and then there are those you list as your occupation in your profile ( http://www.lpsg.org/member.php?u=2818 incase anybody wants to look). You would be considered the one your refer to in your profile because you employ a double standard. You seem to think you know how I feel, what I think and what I've been through in my life. You haven't the slightest clue. You know nothing about me or where I live. There are black people and then there are the ones you make referrence to in your profile. Black people work, rescpet themselves and others, are productive to the best of their ability and have pride in their accomplishments. The ones you referrence expect everything to be given to them and respect no one. I honestly don't feel you fall into that category but I'm not the one that filled out your profile. In the white community we have white people and then we have white trash, so there's not any difference in the two races except the white people have to work on their tans.

Oh, Dilly, just so you know, I don't dislike you cause I don't know you. If I disliked you, I wouldn't have resized you avatar to get everybody else to stop complaining about the size of it. Yeah, I'm the one that did that. If I'd had my way I'd deleted it because I think it is degrading to women of all races, but to each his own.

I'm cross-posting:

This is really the crux of all this disagreement. I am sure every "group" feels the same. I am truly thankful that, While difficult, I have the pleasure of living in more than one group at once: Minority, gay, straight (bi allows this) so that I can experience a lot of things simultaneously. Maddening to be sure, but rewarding in the end.

It is not up to the person with the "intent" to decide if
offense occurred or not. The recipient of said "actions" get to decide if they are offended based on their own perception.

I believe that we, each of us, lose our intent as soon as we take action. Once we act, we can have the best of intentions and still not evince the results we desire.

Steve319 (
SteveBear to me) and I just had this conversation this AM. I can intend to have a pleasant conversation with him. But once we start talking, the conversation may not end as pleasantly as I intended it to before I picked up the cell phone. The road to hell was paved with good intentions, indeed.

Also--there is no reality--there is only perception--Mutual, individual perception of events that we all experience and perceive differently.

10 people in a room, listening to a speaker and they (all 11 of them, including the speaker) take away a different message. Why? Because they all bring their own unique experiences and worldview and filters to that place and time.

Oh lordy yet ANOTHER LPSG thread gone awry,... way into the mechanics of name calling, free speech, anti-Bush drivel, and apologies ... circled by the mechanics of proper board ettiquette. Just when I thought the "My boyfriend is 13" and I'm afraid of having sex with him, help" posts were tiresome....:confused:

I can choose to say nigger as I am black. You're not. Really though, white people love that Chris Rock bit way too much. Sometimes it takes one lousy iPod to be snatched to unearth what obviously was a deep seeded hatred for "niggers."

What do you mean, "just so you know?" You told me you were the one that did that, remember? And not because you "do not dislike me." TexAssGirl and RideRocket had already told me not to worry about it, so there was no way you could've deleted it.

No need to complain about it, either. If you use Firefox, you can install the Adblock extension, right-click on an individual avatar and block it.
