i've been thinking about this, and its very hard to describe it exactly

For me, it's not about seeing good-looking toned bodies, because "average" bodies/overweight people having sex in a porn movie will still turn me on!

I think alot of it is to do with the nature of sex - if we lived in a world where sex wasn't seen as a "naughty" thing to do, we wouldnt be as aroused by porn.

In the real world, alot of the arousal comes from the idea that you about to have sex with someone you have a connection with; love, affection or at the very least knowing them personally!

I think ultimately, it is because we can imagine that we are one of the people in the scene - whenever I see two people in a nice missionary position, I always imagine how it would feel if was to swap places with the guy, and be having sex with the same girl, in the same room etc.

So, why does porn turn YOU on?

I ask this question all the time. There must be something innate that wants to watch other people have sex.

It is a fantasy that you can actually see on film, paper, and on your PC monitor.
I can ogle at my ideal sexy guys doing imaginative sexual stuff with each other.

I don't have to worry about the guys telling me to not stare at them. I can and do for stretches of time. Hehehe.

I think we are psychologically pre-wired for sex. So, I think we enjoy porn because it is sexual. On some sort of level, either conscious or subconscious, we impose their actions on ourselves.

However, as the OP said, society kind of views porn as a taboo subject so it ends up being something we secretly desire more. I think this same train of thought is true for anything that is censored.

Hard bodies and production values are fine I guess, but for me its the moments in porn (and they're usually just fleeting instants if they occur at all) where you get to see the real person behind the actress. I say actress because the actress is always the one that's acting, and whose veneer you can peer behind if you watch closely. The guys aren't acting, they're just fucking and the looks on their faces are just what they look like while they're fucking.

A genuine expression is what turns me on, whether it's amazement at the size of a cock (99% of the time it's just acting - they've probably seen eachother naked 100 times before), apprehension at the prospect of the fucking they're about to get (often in scenes of new girls with big cocks or doing DPs), the pain and soreness of being railed really hard with a big cock, or the quiet acquiescence of a poor chick doing it for whatever stupid reason is driving her to fuck on film. The last one is almost my favorite because you can really tell which ones just need drug money, which ones have been molested and are supressing bad memories in exchange for cash, and which ones have been molested and just don't know any better. I know that makes me kind of sick, but whatever.

Most porn doesn't turn me on. I don't have a problem with it, it just doesn't do much of anything for me.

The only sort that has any effect is amateur, focuses at least partly on the people's faces, and it's usually solo rather than joint efforts. Girls moreso than guys, but either works.

I still haven't quite figured out what makes the difference, maybe the intimacy of getting past some sort of outward facade?

The type of porn that turns me on is, as sappy as it sounds, romantic type porn where the two guys or the guy and the girl are really into each other and you can see real chemistry there within the sex and the coupling and it in no doubt not a put on. Because almost 99 percent of the time most of them look bored even while getting fucked by a really big cock its because it is all so mechanical and functional and there is no emotion or feeling behind it at all. Which is why when a coupling really does have heat and emotion that it really stands out. Also, I love it when there is a lot of kissing, smiling and general caressing before hand. I like the build up I guess you could say and with the smiling thing I think when you see a genuine smile it lets you know that the guy or girl is really into their scene partner and wants to make it good for them as well as the camera.

I agree with WellHung83. Regular porn doesn't do much for me...much too mechanical, fuck yeah, oh yeah, harder, oh, oh, oh, yeah baby, HARDER, oh yes, yes, yes, ah, ah, ah, fuck yeah, harder...etc. That stuff turns me off when it sounds very insincere or theatrical "fuck yeah's" if you get my meaning.

I enjoy watching two that are really into one another and that comes thru on film if it is there. If it's not there, which is 99% of it, it shows clearly too.
