we had words for red, before we eventually corrupted the Moorish word that eventually became Orange, so we with a more limited vocabulary would have described it as red.
English has grown by absorbing words that describe something we hadn't thought of colours for instance taken from fruit and stones: Amethyst, Garnet (after Pomegranate) Amber, Turquoise (the colour after the Turkih stone as it came through Turkey from Persia etc,. etc. Each new invasion added a new layer to the language, Saxons had farming names for animals (sheep) the Normans being higher up spoke of cooked meats mouton (mutton.)............
I'd rather call it fiery or red as it's much more "powerful" than mere orange. (that coming from someone who REALLY likes red pubes, and sometimes red hair is really red)
