I was just wondering....

Why are the majority of member pics on this site without faces??

I figure there are at least two very good reasons:

1. Members fear for the security of their jobs if their faces are revealed.
and/or
2. Members feel that their faces are not that photogenic or that they might not be considered that "good looking" by other members.

First, let me state the obvious before someone else does. Yes, I KNOW that I have no pics of any kind of me--not even any dick shots. And the reason for that would be both of the above.

Secondly, I am not implying that members must or even should show their faces. Either way is their free choice and I respect that.

I have noticed that the majority of those males who have included face pics are quite handsome IMHO.

Not necessarily so right now. But once posted an image is likely to stay in cyberspace forever and cannot be deleted. If there's a possibility that it could ever cause one grief or embarrassment at any time in the future it would be reckless to post anything easily identifiable.

Hi let me add a few more reasons.

3. My sexual behavior is private and is no one elses business.
4. My family cannot handle this type of exposure
5. For security reasons, some people have been blackmailed by haters who live in my city and know who I am.
6. I had a bad experience before. My pictures ended up on several sites that I had not posted on, with someone elses profile or personal ad.

I never post face pics and I am handsome, lol. I do post cock and some body shots but they are limited. If you look at some of the cock pics you will find at least 6 that look alike. I know that your question appears to be for Gay not bi guys, but believe me the responses would be quite the same.

I just don't want people to know what I'm packing. I do a lot of work on site with clients so I have a high visibility. I also travel a lot with work.

Since I would prefer not to have my face linked to my schlong before people get to know me, I think that's a good way to go.

I just wouldn't want family to find out they would probably freak out and think I'm doing internet porn or something. Maybe one day but for right now I'm not brave enough to do it yet.

Most of my friends are very web savy, and I wouldn't want anyone stumbling upon pics of me and recognizing them. The chances are low, but far lower if there aren't pictures of my face.

For me it's more about privacy rather than my looks. I'm ok looking but nothing spectacular. There's also that outside chance that someone I know is on here (although that could lead to something interesting!)

I had some more revealing pics of me here, including a mug shot and was getting many explicit PM's from people I didn't even recognize or care to know judging by their messages. It was flattering at first but it became a chore and I snubbed a lot of folks which didn't sit well with me so I pulled the pics.

My thoughts sort of relate to the "double standard" mentioned in other threads. I have noticed on other "sexually oriented" sites that I'm a member of that men have absoultely no reservations whatsoever of uploading sex pix of their wives / gfs / sig others, but they go above and beyond to make sure that not so much as a nose hair of theirs is visible. I've often found this double standard offensive [and can only imagine how a woman must feel]. I have even seen posts where the woman's face will be displayed prominantly, while the male submitter has pixeled / blurred / redacted the type of wristwatch he is wearing / other jewelry / tattoos. Others notice this trend?

Yes! I have found that to be crass and selfish. Why have the picture up at all if you are only going to protect your own identity? If I were the other person it would say volumes to me. I have other thoughts about people who use others' names online, but dont want their own revealed.
