So, I don't actually have any argument to match the title, because that isn't my goal.

I want people who plan on voting for McCain (Or for those who aren't American and think McCain is the right candidate) to list their reasons for why McCain should be, and Obama shouldn't. Nice and organized please. Perhaps in a list form or something. Also, please cite sources when you can.

For those of the opposite opinion, PLEASE try and refrain from posting in this thread unless it is to point out an incorrect fact. (Example, if someone said Palin made a list of books to ban, but we know that she only inquired about banning books.)

I hope nobody hates me for doing this, or thinks it's a waste of time.

Also, blatant self copy pasta. :biggrin1:

Actually re read my post- its very much on the topic

Nope. I completely understood what you were implying. You might want to go ahead and re-read the original post. Your oblique implication of foreign policy experience doesn't quite work as a fact with citation.

If you'd like to see how to do this kind of thing, you could check out my post in the other thread with links to support my points.

What is your opinion of what should be done? Nuclear strikes on Moscow?

Some of these arguments are so completely irrational i really have to wonder if they are just a disguises for 'i don't want no black presidents.'

I am not American, I'm British, but from watching clips on youtube/our news, the reasons against Obama seem to be that:

1. He is more of a celebrity figure - no substance
2. He doesn't have the experience

*for the record, I am impartial because i do no know enough about either party to form a judgement :)*

because he's black.

He's half white. So there. Ahh but the one drop rule has made him 'black'. What's so weak about white blood that one drop of black blood converts you over?

The following data, taken from the public record, reveals each Presidential Candidate's proposed TAX Plan, if elected. Each taxpayer should become more informed before the November-08 General Election......or be willing to pay once taxes are enacted. Verifications of these facts are available at the end of this article.

INTERESTING DATA ON TAXES

Spread the word.....

This is something you should be
aware of so you don't get blind-sided.
This is really going to catch a lot
of families off guard. It should
make you worry.

Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:
;

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000
per home (couples) McCain does not
propose any change in existing
home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales

How does this affect you?
If you sell your home and make a profit, you
will pay 28% of your gain on taxes.
If you are heading toward retirement
and would like to down-size your
home or move into a retirement
community, 28% of the money you
make from your home will go to taxes. This
proposal will adversely affect the
elderly who are counting on the income
from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN 15% ( no change)

OBAMA 39.6%

How will this affect you?
If you have any money invested in stock
market, IRA, mutual funds,
college funds, life insurance, retirement
accounts, or anything that pays
or reinvests dividends, you will now
be paying nearly 4 0% of the money
earned on taxes if Obama become president.
The experts predict that 'higher
tax rates on dividends and capital gains
would crash the stock market yet
do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN (no changes)

Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA
(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama your taxes will
more than double!

How does this affect you? No explanation
needed. This is pretty
straight forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

How does this affect you? Many families
have lost businesses,
farms and ranches, and homes
that have
been in their families
for generations because they could not
afford the inheritance tax.
Those willing their assets to loved
ones will not only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

* New government taxes proposed on
homes that are more than
2400 square feet

* New gasoline taxes (as if
gas weren't high enough already)

* New taxes on natural resources
consumption (heating
gas, water, electricity)

* New taxes on retirement accounts
and last but not least....

* New taxes to pay for socialized medicine
so we can receive the same
level of medical care as other
third-world countries!!!

Nothing. We didnt make the rules. But we have been made to live by them. Most allegedly bi racial children are more than half white but old habits and ideologies die hard.

At the person level, it is extremely difficult to assess the impact of their plan...

At first glance, Obama seems easy on the lower middle class but many in those groups may have to sell their house or raid their 401k early and could get hit by some of his proposals.

Both plans sidestep the bigger problem of our ginormous debt.

Curious...that's amazing.

Is McCain going to pay off America's debt from his own money? That's very generous of him.

If only every other country in the world had magical money and never had to raise taxes

(Curious has proved that neither he nor McCain knows anything of economics)
