Fascinating somehow and maybe it's because the press knows Obama would never sign such a bill. The destruction of Medicare as we know it and turned over to private insures following in George W. Bush's attempt to turn Social Security over to Wall Street. Sum it all up and the goal is to 1) Turn government functions over to for-profit(of course) private enterprise then leave it to private industry to 2) Systematically transform the program to only serve "profitable" citizens.

Five years ago, Rep. Paul Ryan stood on the House floor, assured of victory. “This is our defining moment,” he said.

On that day in 2011, the House’s new GOP majority approved Ryan’s budget plan — which, in defiance of all political instincts, called for cuts in a government program that voters knew and loved: Medicare. Ryan (R-Wis.), worried about debt, wanted eventually to turn the massive health-benefit program over to private insurers.

At the time, one particular Republican objected loudly and publicly. But he was nobody important — just the host of “The Celebrity Apprentice.”

“What he did is political suicide for the Republican Party,” Donald Trump said in an interview recently dug up by Mother Jones.

Has Donald Trump stolen Paul Ryan’s party out from under him?

Question... Why is the RNC getting so much stink for what Donald Trump says and does on the campaign trail? I'm seeing protesters outside the RNC Washington D.C. headquarters talking about "the RNC is dead to us" and other such comments. Few officials have been as opposed to Trumps rise as the Republican leadership. They have been beaten into submission over the last 10 months. They don't want Trump, but their voters aren't giving them a choice. I mean, Trump ran as the outsider. So why are the insiders catching so much shit?

@Bardox because they, for the most part, are falling in line. Or as conservative writer Kathleen Parker puts it 'a lack of moral courage'.

It wasn’t precisely an act of moral courage, but House Speaker Paul D. Ryan’s (Wis.) comment that he’s not ready to support presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump was at least . . . something.

Whether it’s a start or a finish remains to be revealed, but it would seem that we’re witnessing the beginning of the end. To wit: A Republican friend, who has abandoned her behind-the-scenes work of getting conservatives elected, called me recently to express her condolences. “I feel sorry for you,” she said, “because you (given your job) can’t ignore the collapse of Western civilization.”

Farewell, Grand Old Party

But then Paul Ryan meets with Donald and.....

Trump, Ryan say they are ‘totally committed’ to uniting their party

I'm not sure when I was more proud than when :

"[N]o matter how isolated or scared you may feel today, the Department of Justice and the entire Obama Administration wants you to know that we see you; we stand with you; and we will do everything we can to protect you going forward."

The line in Loretta Lynch's defense of transgender rights that made everyone cry
Could have never happened in a Republican Administration.

Yet again we see the awesome power of the Supreme Court. Had the SCOTUS not ruled in favor of Texas a constitutional right would have been seriously undermined and essentially gutted as they did the Voting Rights Act.

Today, the Supreme Court struck down one of the most pervasive scams in American politics today, the effort by Republican state legislatures to shut down abortion clinics in the name of protecting “women’s health.”

In a 5-3 decision, the Court invalidated a Texas law requiring that abortion clinics meet the same standards as outpatient surgical centers, and that doctors who perform abortions have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals. These restrictions create an “undue burden” on women’s right to abortion, a standard the court established in a prior case for evaluating the obstacles states throw up in front of that right. It was one of the rare moments when one might be at least a little bit reassured that although we have our persistent disagreements over policy, some forms of transparently dishonest baloney will, eventually, be defeated.

Hillary cleared again. Another costly witch hunt that yielded nothing.

WASHINGTON — Ending one of the longest, costliest and most bitterly partisan congressional investigations in history, the House Select Committee on Benghazi issued its final report on Tuesday, finding no new evidence of culpability or wrongdoing by Hillary Clinton in the 2012 attacks in Libya that left four Americans dead.

House Benghazi Panel Finds No New Evidence of Wrongdoing by Hillary Clinton

Clearly another panel needs to be convened . . .

Well to the delight of the crooks and liars the damage has been done:

A large chunk of Americans — mostly Republicans — believe that Clinton, as secretary of state, behaved improperly, and the exhaustive House investigation was warranted. Another large chunk — mostly Democrats — believes that the attack was a tragedy and that the House investigation, stretched into the presidential election year, was motivated by politics. A subset of that first population takes the idea further: Clinton willfully ignored the issue and is directly responsible for the deaths of Stevens and the three others.

For Hillary Clinton, the Benghazi damage has been done

^ As we know this is how it works. Through the garbage at your opponent long enough and it will stick. By the time they are vindicated no one is listening.

This is interesting because Republicans are in deep love with the military however you will never see them criticize our brave soldiers.

The report reserves most of its sharpest criticism for the Defense Department — which failed to launch a rescue attempt for the diplomats and CIA employees — while not disputing Pentagon statements that such aid would not have arrived in time to save the lives of Stevens and State Department communications specialist Sean Smith at the diplomatic compound, or CIA security contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods at the CIA compound.

Oh but wait don't forget all the #neverHillary gang are just praying the FBI comes down on her for using a private email server. Now we need to "lift and shift" all available resources we had on "Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi" to emails emails emails right away. Donald is tanking. We need to tank Hillary too!
