Don't worry. I'm not voting for Trump. I never considered voting for him for even a moment. I'm not voting for HRC either. I don't either of their politics or policies. I think both would be equally bad for the U.S. It's a no-win situation. I don't want to have HRC's supreme court picks, and I don't want to have Trump in bed with the Russians. I don't want to build a wall and I don't want to deport people.

The question being what matters to YOU (and every OTHER person who's thinking of sitting this one out) and matters ENOUGH to motivate you to vote for one or the other, whether that be

a higher, fairer minimum wage
humane and sensible reform and enforcement of immigration policy
affordable healthcare that doesn't exclude the infirm or people with pre-existing conditions
laws protecting the rights of people of all persuasions from hate crimes, discrimination and disenfranchisement
protection of the environment
protection of consumers from unscrupulous and predatory credit practices
equal pay for women
the rights of women to make informed choices as to their healthcare needs
an end to racial disparity and discrimination in law enforcement, medical practices, employment, etc.
voter registration laws that are not designed to disenfranchise and exclude a certain segment of the population
fair share tax laws that don't allow for the wealthy to pay relatively LESS in taxes
job initiatives and plans to stimulate economic growth
the recognition of climate change
the solvency of social security and medicare
a sensible, level headed, and consistent foreign policy that our allies can depend upon, and our enemies can count on
the rights of people not to be discriminated against under the auspices of exercising one's "religious freedom"
the responsibilities of governments (as recognized by nearly every other "modern" society in the world) to care for those most in need

and

a NATION that is NOT founded upon nor guided by HATE BASED DIVISIVE IDEOLOGY that excuses misogyny and demonizes minorities and people of different faiths and ethnicities.

I agree with almost all of those. But I don't like Hillary and she's not the one I want to be president.

I'm sorry. You're insane. This is literally what she's promising. You want that? But not the woman that wants to give it to you?

In other words, you're willing to take your chances with Trump. Maybe because you figure you can afford to. Only, it's not about you, or about me, for that matter.

It IS a matter of RESPONSIBILITY, as a citizen of this country. Too bad you don't see it that way.

Bernie wouldn't have won. I'd have loved it if he could have. He was far more my preference. But without electoral reform there's no chance. Jill Stein and that other one are a joke. Serious independent candidates, like Bernie, with proportional representation would be a dream. Setting aside what I wish could've happened, Hillary hasn't stooped. She's survived decades of anti and in the face of a massively misogynistic world where she otherwise would have been entitled to spank that orange twat in the face/dick on behalf of humankind she's been poised and calm and laid out plans for a progressive future. She's not the least bad choice. She's a fucking fantastic choice. She inspires me. She's a warrior.

Well, it's not far to go now before you all find out who will be your boss. Not that it will make the pollie forums any quieter :)

Sorry. I don't understand your word sentences.

The election in the US, it's not far away. The US will soon decide who it's boss will be, then all words will be water under the bridge.

But it won't slow down the comments here no matter who wins.

Oh, I see. Thing is: it won't be water under the bridge. It'll be a very dangerous outcome. When Trump loses there will be a very nasty far-right uprising.

There would have been if he had of won. Probably from his own supporters when they came to the reality he is not able to deliver on what he promised

If Hils wins, then her threats to Russia of military action with no conclusive evidence may need to be wound back a bit.

Either way, I find the whole election has basically been, focus the blame for the way things are somewhere else.

From both sides. And if as you say there is an Uprising....how do you think the government will sort that one out?

I don't think there will be over Trump, I think there may be over the gaping financial hole developing in the world.

Perhaps cyber hacking will be the straw that tips the scale....if anything it shows how terribly fragile and dependent we all have become on the virtual, and in such a few short years.

Blame someone else is my guess. People are unhappy at their own governments being controlled by the few.
