Somehow its a curse. I actually got nervous when Ms. Rouge requested me. I was hoping that it wouldnt happen, and then I thought it was just silly. If you look at my friends list, which isnt that big, almost half are gone due to a banning. And some just dissappear!

^I think Bbucko's post is very enlightening tho, I liked her especially when I first knew her, but she seemed kinda tetchy lately. :/

Like I wrote above, she has been going through a period of serious up-rooting in her personal life, which led to less reviewing-before-posting than might otherwise have been the case. But she was always a loose cannon: it was both a strength and (ultimately lethal) flaw.

She knew very well that she was being carefully monitored, though I doubt she fully understood the degree to which her detractors were set on seeing her permanently banned. Underestimating one's enemies is never clever, nor are any expectations of deference due to either the amount or quality of one's contributions to a community.

The latter has now been reiterated twice, both here and IRL. I hope it's finally sunk all the way in.

I disagree. It's my understanding that bans here are the result of a majority vote...but since they hide their individual voices behind the veil of solidarity, the lot of them can rightfully be tarred for the stupidity of their collective actions.

I sincerely wonder why anyone would want such a job here: it's a constant schedule of latrine duty with no discernible benefits from the cheap seats I'm viewing it from.

Actions such as the banning of MR inevitably lead to a few openings; expect to see at least a few in the coming days and weeks ahead.

Well this is a big old pile of shite.

I mean seriously. There is this whole argument that 'regulars' or long time posters should not be cut any slack because favouritism is 'wrong' but actually, when you think about it Red provided so much content to the sight, both in images and prose, over the years that maybe she bloody well should be cut some slack. How many straight guys do you reckon bought Gold Membership to see her gallery when it was full, eh? How many guys may have recommended this site to others on the back of that too? More than a handful I reckon.

But no, fuck it - ban her because she was a bit fighty and, in total truth and fairness (she'd be the first to agree), had a low tolerance for BS and an inability to leave an argument. Because while that is true the negatives she brought to the site were far outweighed by the positives.

ManlyBanisters I wrote RobE about this. My wife contibuted a lot here and was an asset as far as I'm concerned. I encourage anyone else who feels this banning was handled inappropriately and why should slo contact RobE personally about it. He needs to hear what we think because Mademoiselle can not speak for herself right now.

He needs to see what kinds of revenue the people who are continuing to put a target on her back are bringing to the site. It's a lot to weigh and figure out if it's worth it to him to keep those people around and throw one of the sexiest, real female contributors out the door thanks to a guy who can't use the ignore function like Mad was doing with him already.

She was warning TomCat84 to not engage himself with Luka as to not get tangled up in a mess that would render TomCat84 to be banned. And Mademoiselle Rouge gets banned instead. Sounds like a real winner of a decision.

So if you want Mademoiselle Rouge back for whatever reason you have, go straight up the chain of command, tell the man who benefited most from her being here. Maybe he can do something about it. I hope he can.

This is true. Perm bans can be appealed, but I think she has to be the one to initiate it.

The email address a banned member is said to contact is an all-catching email that all the moderators read. Since a majority of these moderators have Luka on their friendslist, we do not trust that an appeal can be handled properly if the people who banned her by voting together don't see what they might have done wrong.

Which is why recommended going above that chain of command, they are bias, but RobE is not. But he does know how much Maddie has been an integral part of LPSG and to lose her and keep the people who she was warning OTHERS to not get tangled about in for a possible banning of their account.

OK I'll miss Mlle. Rouge, she's a very strong personality and her contribution here is massive. I didn't always agree with things she said, but I liked her for that and for holding her opinions strongly and in the face of whatever opposition she might have faced for holding them. She was funny and clever and very much herself. I know she had lots of friends around here who will miss her too.

I don't know the details of why she was banned, and so I wont comment on it. It would be a pity if this thread just degenerated in to another Mod bashing though.

i agree, but at least she could support her arguments. meanwhile people that post nonsense with no substance behind it that only serves too stir the pot, are free to wander the forums for years.

and calling someone out on their stupidity isnt harassment, especially if they keep throwing stupid into the argument.

I do agree she was an asset to the site - and could be brilliantly engaging at times, and very sexy.

But...I think her comments to TomCat came across more as another excuse to take a potshot at Luka, than as a serious attempt to warn TomCat. If she'd wanted to do that, she could've used pm - which would've been wiser given that she seems to have been warned previously about harrassment.

I hope things work out for her - and would like to see her back, maybe when she's had some time out and feels in a better place herself?

When a member has been given a heads up, warning and banned several times the moderators are left with no option, other than a permanent ban. It is a very unpleasant task. I am sure they followed proper procedure. For them to bend the rules in this case would simply be unfair to other members who were banned permanently and not given a extra chance. I worked with them for over a year and can tell you they are all fair, unbiased and dedicated. I'm sure some of them lost some sleep last night over this decision. I know i would have. I like MR and i will miss her. She may apply for reinstatement down the road, and i'm sure the moderators will look at it fairly.

Faceking's thread is so unbelievably offensive, for so many many reasons, that I can't understand why he wasn't banned for posting it. Making cheap and morally reprehensible political points about Obama out of the hideous, painful and appalling death by stoning of a woman in Iran is sick beyond belief and could not fail to have outraged anyone with any sense of decency who read it. If that thread wasn't intended to violate the ToS I can't possibly understand what is.

I know MR has form with Luka, but Faceking has form with these kinds of threads. If MR goes then so should Faceking FFS.

Everyone on here posts something that is offensive to someone. Neither your, nor mine, nor anyone's views hold consensus, & Faceking had an absolute right to underline the difference between aspirations & practicality, & words & actions, just like everyone else has, especially on the politics forum!:smile:

It's a forum, there will be polar opposite opinions.

I've noticed too that Red was noticeably more tetchy than when I joined, her comments on the thread dealing with the SS Marmarus(?) Palestinian aid ship would bear that out.

Compared to what I remember of the spat with Luka, the Luka thing was pretty tame! I've found Luka's posts to often be non sequiturs.

She clearly has bundles of good points, & is a massive contributor, but oh that temper, stand back when lit!

I wouldn't have banned her, but she sometimes undoubtably can personalize an arguement, but ad hominem attacks seem par for the course on some forums here.
