My doc wrote me a Rx for 6 months worth of antibiotics, enough for 1 a day incase we have sex everyday (which we don't) but i just take one before sex or after sex and it helps stave off any bacterial growth. I have a hard time peeing after sex if the friction has caused me to swell up at all. But i've been working a lot harder and getting the urine out as soon as i get up out of the bed. A combo of that and the antibiotics have really cut down on the amount of bladder infections, in fact i've not had any since started the prophylactic antibiotic. The antibiotic is Bactrim. I don't really sense an infection coming on, usually 2 to 3 days post sex (especially depending on the style of sex we had) i can start having the burning with urination and a few days after that the smell of my urine gets horribly putred.
