I've noticed that many folks here still have her on their Friends List.

I kept her on my list because I miss her. I also wish that she could return to the site (if she so desired). I wish that many people would return to this site.

You know that she's been banned, so have you kept her on your list?

This isn't a petition... just a question.

PS. Has a permanent ban ever been lifted in the past?

Sounds sorta stalker like checking up on who's on who's list. I would think that info would be private.

I can assure you that WoB and rec3000 are completely different people. For one, rec has a penis and WoB has a vagina. This has been independently verified in-person by many people. WoB has even given birth with that vagina so you can rest assured it's not the result of a quick sex change designed to throw us off the trail.

I keep WoB on my list because she is my friend and I hope it will stand as a reminder, as some other names on my friends list do, of the members of quality we have lost over time for (what I believe) are dubious reasons.

The only one I know about was when alex8 was banned , I think over creating a 2nd account on purpose to illustrate that the mods could make a decision on the double account banning that wasn't black and white - He was initially banned and then let back in.

I certainly think the admin team should reconsider this. Certainly WoB only posted again as snoozan to get herself a permaban - Likewise NIC and his 2nd account. Neither of them broke the rules to any end bar breaking the rules to get banned. Both the WoB ban and the NIC ban should be lifted.

Maybe a user should be able to request that their account be disabled if they feel they need to quit here - Personally I'd like to think that when I'm done with this place I'll just walk away. Maybe it isn't that easy - but that's beside the point - the mandatory lifetime ban for having 2 active accounts is too broad. Now there are more mods I'd like to see this reconsidered.

By the way -
why are we whispering?

Even in the short time I saw her here I always noticed her posts.

She was/is a class act.

If she wanted to come back I dont see any reason not to let her.

ToS said:
These violations will result in a ban on the user's account:
Use of more than one account by the same person.

These violations are subject to a sanction up to, and rarely including, permanent ban, depending on (cumulative) severity:
Nude avatars.
Both the WoB ban and the NIC ban should be lifted.

The only "should" involved, is that as per the Terms of Service, they "should" have been banned. Do not fabricate necessity.

Nope, not when this place becomes one of your main stops on the internet and the internet one of the essential parts of your day

You've been spending too much time reading alternate reality history over at The LPSG Tribute Site. I was subject to an 'emergency ban' when it was believed that I had hacked into secure areas of the site to read another person's PMs. That ban was rescinded once this was discovered not to be the case. No permanent ban was instituted against me, although the moderator team was "in quorum" discussing this matter at the time of my 'emergency ban.' These events occurred over two years ago under a previous incarnation of the TOS and a previous moderator team.

...PS. Has a permanent ban ever been lifted in the past?
Both snooz and WoB are on my CONTACTS list, but sitting and "pending" becoming friends.

She had herself banned in protest to a "Senior Member" being temporarily (although at the time, seemingly permanently, and I think it was mistakenly) banned. In light of the mistake, it would seem she could petition to have herself UNbanned, but the precedent is that she would have to do it herself, with an act of contrition to the Mods.

The precedent was set by Alex8, who created multiple accounts to make a point, and have himself banned, but later renounced his evil ways :)tongue:), and had himself reinstated. snooz/WoB would also have to include an apology for the purposely placed nude avatar, which is typically just "corrected" by a Mod, once pointed out (because Heavens knows, just viewing the member list, there are always a few still there), but technically, can be the grounds for an instant, no-warning-needed ban, although again, I've never actually seen that happen, and instead is just "corrected".

(to alex, obviously) Oh - fair enough - I tried searching for what went on but couldn't find it. I can't recall where I got that from now - I think it was through gossip here rather than over there though. Double accounts were definitely mentioned.

So there is no prior of a permaban being lifted?

Edit : I see I'm not the only who heard the wrong story, maybe novice told me :tongue:

Why did they think that you hacked the site? Did you, indeed, do any hacking? Can a hacker really get banned? Mewonders...
