Yes, we had sex with women because (a) it was environmental, (b) we were in denial about being gay, (c) we were trying to prove to our friends and family that we were straight, or (d) all of the above. Let’s not pretend like there isn’t a straight obsession on this forum that is rooted in self-hatred. Even when there is proof that the guy is into guys, the “he’s straight” mob will come for you. Male sexuality has many shades and aspects to it, but I tend to agree with you that there must be some degree of bisexuality if a guy has sex with guys. To remain hard while another guy touches you, let alone licks, sucks or fucks you. That's not straight. I don't understand the psychology of "g4p". It just doesn't ring true to me.
The "straight obsession", as you describe it, might suggest that some gay/bi guys regard "straight" sexuality as a more authentic/desirable form of maleness. That's gotta be a societal thing.
