how n the fuck can her winning be empowering to youth? be different and still be good at what u do has to be it! i'm not into that gothic , demonic shit! she is ugly as shit with them yellow ass teeth, clearly rupaul didnt judge this competition for looks because she wouldnt have made it as far as she did and as far as talent she couldnt dance or catch a beat, pissed! but on the other hand i didnt know that phi phi was such a bitch and backstabbed her friend jiggly and all she was concerned about was the money but she was beautiful and had talent, i would have wanted the cher lookalike to win!rupaul u should be ashamed!

I'm sorry but it seems that "drag" has been turned by many into "female impersonators". Drag is about being campy, over exaggerated and over the top. Some of the best drag queens I've seen are over the top funny and interesting to look at. When I see a show and the queen comes on quivering their lip to a whitney song most go to refresh their drink. Sorry. Sharon won because she represented drag in what it "use" to be. Granted she comes with a dark side but obviously stood out from the rest and didn't deliver the same old bullshit of a dude trying to look pretty in a dress. Besides her Latrice Royale and Chad were AWESOME in who they are as people. Dems good people. ;-)

well said. I completely agree that Drag and female impersonation are two different things. Sharon won because she was the best drag queen.

Well since this thread mentions him in the title let's talk about Willem again...

I get the feeling that we still haven't been given the full story on why Willem was sent away. On the reunion show Willem stated that the rules said that he couldn't tell anyone that he was going away to compete on the show so he had to make up a story for his husband. This doesn't fit with the fact that throughout the season we saw and heard Sharon talking about how he had promised Alaska that he would win a cruise for them. If the rules stated to tell no one then how would Sharon have been able to promise Alaska anything?

Well...I FINALLY got a chance to watch the episode (I hate it when work and life get in the way of TV enjoyment!!!).

AMEN to Sharon winning!!! She was the absolute right choice. I love Chad, but he was a female impersonator - a FREAKING PHENOMENAL ONE - but a female impersonator. Sharon and Latrice were true drag queens.

The two highlights for me was everyone's utter disdain for Phi Phi and Willam.

Watching Jiggly finally express her feelings of Phi Phi's disloyalty and listening to Phi Phi snivel about how she was in it for the $100,000 - it was amazing! I feel for Phi Phi and how she struggled with an abusive father (I share her issues!) however that doesn't give you a right to be cruel, conniving and a downright horrible person. And that's what Phi Phi was and people got a chance to tell her!

I loved Willam's moment in the sun but I agree that the excuse was a little too easy and confusing when you think of the "cameos" from Alaska, Chad's boyfriend and Dita Ritz's parents, etc. It was great hearing from Willam though and watching her give some really good parting shots to Phi Phi.

All in all..it was a good show. The reunion part itself was way too brief though. And it was awesome seeing Latrice win Miss Congeniality!

Way to go SHARON NEEDLES!!!!!

how n the fuck can her winning be empowering to youth? be different and still be good at what u do has to be it! i'm not into that gothic , demonic shit! she is ugly as shit with them yellow ass teeth, clearly rupaul didnt judge this competition for looks because she wouldnt have made it as far as she did and as far as talent she couldnt dance or catch a beat, pissed! but on the other hand i didnt know that phi phi was such a bitch and backstabbed her friend jiggly and all she was concerned about was the money but she was beautiful and had talent, i would have wanted the cher lookalike to win!rupaul u should be ashamed!

I'm not sure how you took what I said, maybe I could have said it better. I know that when I was in high school, there were some "goth" type students who usually hung out together, and it seemed these guys and girls were usually mocked for their looks, written off as not even significant enough to get to know by the majority of students, etc. Sharon clearly has carried some of the anger she built up during her formative years and actually turned it into something empowering for herself, she spoke about what that podunk town in Iowa was like where she grew up (I think I have gotten gas in that town before, though now I can't remember the name of it it's not far from Des Moines) I knew I was gay in high school before I ever told anybody, so I always felt a little bit of empathy for the other kids that were marginalized for whatever reason, be it a disability, because they intentionally dressed differently, overweight kids, whatever. You don't have to be pretty or popular to be interesting, and to judge somebody just because they are good looking or smart limits how much you learn. I thought Sharon embodied that, or maybe she was just edited to look that way, but that was why I was rooting for her.

And cut blacklibran some slack, I think he has inside knowledge about RDR but he has been very careful not to leak anything major, and I'm glad to hear what he has to say. Now just post some pics dude! Just kidding, although don't let me stop you. Anyway, he would be a good person to ask what I was wondering about the All_Stars this fall, do you know which former contestants will be participating? And will it be like RDR or different somehow? If it's like Drag U I will be a bit disappointed, any Ru on Logo is better than 99% of the other crap they play but Drag U just doesn't capture my attention the same way. Also will there be a pit crew, and will it be the same two guys back for season 5? I saw a few pics of Shawn not long ago and he had what looked like a harness being tattooed on his shoulders, then I thought it might be a temp tattoo because I didn't notice it on the reunion episode, but there it was again in the Willem video I linked before. Maybe they just covered it up with makeup for the reunion. Thanks for any hints you can give.
