Funny how you never responded to the second post in this thread.
BF2K and people of his corporatist rightwing authoritarian stripe never respond to debate challenges or to being proven wrong. They just plug their ears, change the subject, and spout more mindless talking points.

In hind sight it was the right thing to do and paid off huge political dividends with many republican Senators up for recall i think history will not agree with you and your sad corporatist talking points.
That depends on who ultimately wins this fight and gets to write the history. Yes, it's that real, that serious.
As for "sad corporatist talking points" (spoonfed by rightwing political/media whores) that's all she's got.

This is false btw. I know; I'm in WI not France
To be fair, BF2K's profile doesn't say he's in France, only that he's SE of Paris.
For all we know he could be SE of Paris,Wisconsin. That seems to me infinitely more likely.

Thank you for pointing out that BF2K never actually responded to my initial reply. He is more interested in spouting is GOP fed talking points than learning what the facts are. That is a typical response from the GOP. Let's go stir up some more fear, with out fear the terrorists win.

By the way, do you not think that the State Senate, as run by Scooter Walker's lap puppy Scott Fitzgerald's tactics of withholding of direct depositing pay checks, inventing a "contempt of senate" charge and insisting the State Patrol hunt down and arrest the departed Dems a little overboard on the abuse of office and power. I think it is a great day when people think they need to use police power to inflict their demented view of the world on people. All it does is re-enforce the case that these people are not fit to lead...

WTF do the Koch brothers have to do with this? Elected officials, elected to represent their constituency, left the state so they couldn't be forced to attain quorum in the Senate. What would you think if all the Democrats in Congress left the country and went to a beach in Thailand in order to NOT make a decision. Sorry, but kind of reminds me of Obama's term in the Senate where he voted "not present" most of the time.

Ah, someone else knows what obama did as senator [nothing], just like now, hiding.

They all should have left the country a week ago and went to NE Japan.

All jokes about Japan at this current time, given the tragedy that they're going through right now, are in really bad taste. You really hate Obama and the Democrats that much to make such an ignorant response? That tells a lot... really, it does.

Who do you think you're fooling here? Anyone paying attention to context knows what you're implying when you suggest that some people you have problems with should have been present when there was recently an earthquake and a tsunami that killed tens of thousands of people. I was trying to give you the benefit of a doubt by saying you were making a tasteless joke. Do you really want to try and defend such an insensitive statement just to embrace some anti-government ideology?

As for dems and reps, they can all jump off a cliff, obama too.

So then who runs things once all of the Democrats and Republicans are gone?

elected officials leaving the state to avoid having to represent the interest of their voters, who in the world thought that it was and still a good idea to just get up and leave when things get tough.

its like if you called the police over to your house because of an intruder and police arrives but believes that the situation is too much to bear and then they just leave you to deal with it.

They WERE representing the interests of the people who voted for them by leaving the state. I think their constituents(aka voters) were very pleased with their attempt to stop this heinous legislation.

Why do the trolls refuse to comment on the second post in this thread?

Why do the trolls refuse to comment on the second post in this thread?

Whether trolls or ideologues, they don't acknowledge the legitimacy of the WI Dems on philosophical grounds, so no amount of counter-argument matters.

I sincerely hope that I never reach the stage where I am incapable of at least seeing things from another perspective: I needn't agree, but my mind needs to at least be open to a proper hearing. Otherwise it's all just knee-jerk which, while not uncommon to discussions like this, adds no nuance, balance nor any depth of understanding.

Sorry but "no cigar" guys, show me where in the State Constitution of Wisconsin it says that "if an elected official of the State Senate disagrees with parliamentary proceedings he can leave the State to avoid making any decision in order to represent the voters..." If they had remained IN the State they could have been forced by legal authorities (according to State law) to attend a Senatorial sessions by force!!!" We are a country of laws, not of pussy-assed people that aren't able to face their duties as our representatives. If the people of Wisconsin disagree with the way this has been handled by their elected Senators or by the Governor, they will be not elected for another term. BTW STOP the troll shit!! We don't agree, but I will fight for your right to express your opinion, would you do the same?

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.
You've been asked to express your opinion on a post that rebuts the OP, but you refuse.
Therefore: Troll.

It's already been explained to you that their actions do count as a form of filibuster. It doesn't have to say in exact words. Pay attention.

If they had remained IN the State they could have been forced by legal authorities (according to State law) to attend a Senatorial sessions by force!!!"

Which is why they left the state, McFly.
Get it yet?

We are a country of laws, not of pussy-assed people that aren't able to face their duties as our representatives.

Tell that to Scott Walker, the current Senator and bald faced liar who pretended that his actions against Unions had something to do with the state's economy when it clearly didn't.

If the people of Wisconsin disagree with the way this has been handled by their elected Senators or by the Governor, they will be not elected for another term.

That's if he even survives a recall.

BTW STOP the troll shit!!

You are the stimuli to your responses. People wouldn't be calling you a troll if you not only knew what the heck were talking about, but wasn't so adamant to defend your statements even after they were proven to be factually inaccurate. Case in point, whether or not you or anyone else considers the actions of the 14 Democratic Senators for leaving the state to be an act of courage or "pussy-assed" is irrelevant. It's still a legal maneuver they or any other Senator could use to try and force a debate on legislation whether it appears verbatim in their laws or not. But instead of talking about the actual procedures and what they mean going forward, you diverge in more ignorant, partisan banter.

We don't agree, but I will fight for your right to express your opinion, would you do the same?

You're fighting a battle that nobody is raging. Not a single soul is preventing you from expressing your opinion, regardless of how ignorant it is. However, what you are saying is factually inaccurate and you will be called on that.

It doesn't say that, it doesn't say they can't. If you knew your constitution, you'd know that makes it legal.

But more to the point, that's why a quorum exists. This is valid tactic.
