I think that in most marriages woman are the one that really have the pants in the relationship. Iam NOT sayin that this is a bad thing , only a observation . My mom was the one that really got the pants , My brothers wifes has the pants in their relationships too . My friends wifes are the one that really have the pants. It does seem that women wear the pants in general, but for me personally, I like to know that I'm equal and if things aren't 50/50 I'm just not going there. I literally balk at some of the relationships my brother gets into, for example. He has no real backbone anyway, but he gets bossed around to the point where you think 'where has your own life gone?' I do think it's easier to be equal when there are no kids involved though. It seems to me like once they come along, there has to be some sort of taskmaster in the house, and since men are generally inept and indifferent, it ends up in the hands of the woman. So she becomes the overachieving slave-driver soccer-mom and he turns into Al Bundy, wishing he could escape and fuck anyone else but her every night.

This is why I love you and Ed. Our households are a lot alike in dynamic I presume.

My wife knows what needs to happen, but will not do it. I attend to the finer details of the house, the finances, landscaping, repairs, etc.
AS for bigger decisions, they are made by the two of us. My wife also does not hold me hostage for sex to get what she wants. She usually gets what she wants when she waits as I am horrible about buying her things spur of the moment.

In a lot of houses this may be true that the woman rules the roost, but not in mine. The rooster and the hen share the roost.

I have been accused (by the asshole guy) of using sex as a weapon, but I wasn't. I didn't want to have sex with him after he started making sexist statements because I just wasn't in the mood anymore - he essentially killed my sex drive! (and that's not easy to do! ) I have not been this way with anyone else - for a time in 2003-2004 I had no, or very little, sex drive due to physical illness though.

Hey, I'm a woman and I love Sharper Image and those places! :biggrin1: Fun, fun!!! Of course, I'm also the woman who wanted to head for the sporting goods while my LTR guy wanted to look at tea sets! :biggrin1::biggrin1: (he found that amusing to no end!) I can't afford that kind of stuff anymore though.

I really do prefer a marriage/serious relationship be an equal partnership.
