I'm looking to find out if any woman on here take libido enhancers to increase there sex drive. Which ones work the best? My wife has a low sex drive and wants to try an enhancer, any help would be appreciated.

This one is a bit odd, but I used to take Wellbutrin/Zyban for depression (it's also prescribed to help people quit smoking). It definitely upped my sex drive, which is already really high anyway.. but the difference was notable. A few female friends confirmed my thoughts on it. It is in trials now for sexual problems in women.

It's prescription only and has to be taken under doctor's care, but it works. Normally I wouldn't advocate a prescription med (especially an antidepressant) but this one is in wide circulation for the smoking thing and the side effects are minimal for most people. You can tell pretty much right away if the side effects are going to be bearable or not (mostly fidgeting and insomnia, it's a mild stimulant).

My wife has always had a low sex drive and we need to turn it around. She is getting worse and finally made a doctors appointment for the end of the month. She wants to try something before the doctors appointment to see if it helps so we have some clue to what might wrong.

Testosterone research:

A study involving more than 800 women from across the United States, Australia, Canada, Sweden and the United Kingdom has been (recently) published in the New England Journal of Medicine showing that giving doses of testosterone helped healthy women regain their sex drive. For 52 weeks, researchers at 65 research centers, including University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, followed women with low libido. The women got either daily doses of testosterone for 24 weeks or a placebo. Women who received a larger dose of testosterone showed higher rates of satisfying sexual episodes than women on the placebo, but that was not the case with the group that received a smaller dose of the drug. The rate of androgenic adverse effects - primarily unwanted hair growth - was higher in women who received the larger doses. The long-term effects of testosterone, including effects on the breast, remain uncertain. Sheryl Kingsberg, a researcher at UH, led one of two local studies. The other site was at Rapid Medical Research Inc. in Beachwood.

(However)
The researchers caution that the higher testosterone dose caused some side effects.

About 30 per cent of the study subjects who were given 300 mcg of testosterone experienced unwanted hair growth, compared to 23.1 per cent in the placebo group.

As well, some subjects developed facial acne, changes in their voices and hair loss. Four study subjects developed breast cancer, though one developed the disease very early in the trial while another exhibited symptoms before the trial began.

The researchers conceded that further study on testosterone's side effects must be conducted before the hormone can become an accepted course of treatment for sexual dysfunction in women.

The use of low-dose testosterone patches to improve sexual function in postmenopausal women has already been approved for use in many parts of Europe.

However, testosterone is not approved in the U.S. and Canada, although some doctors do prescribe it to their patients.

Seriously OP, maca.

User Reviews of 1Fast400 Maca Extract

Review:
After reading the reviews posted by MEN...I decided...heck..wonder how this Maca stuff would work on a woman? I was also referred to it by a bb'ing male friend who said he got mad crazy lifts while using it.

Well...after using this stuff for a month, I can tell all of you Men out there...that you should buy a bottle for your gf/wives. As far as the sex...OMG...you won't be displeased and neither will she. My lifts go up just about every week and I've got CRAZY energy. Keep in mind though...I've got a pretty phenominal sex drive to begin with...but with Maca...it's in some "outer orbit" sexdrive! I'm generally more pleasant (love the warm tingly sensation it gives me), more focused and I highly recommend this product for both men and woman.
