Now you know how women feel. I don't walk around town with no shirt, but I do take out the trash, lie around the house, and wash the car without a shirt; garden without a shirt; and go for walks in the park or just in the country without a shirt. I drive without a shirt regularly in hot weather, though I do put it on if I have to go into a store. Personally I think either men or women should be allowed this comfort. It's also legal for men everywhere I know about, and legal for women in many places (including New York state and Maine in the U.S.).

If the woman you spoke of doesn't like it, that's her problem.

1. Next time tie your shirt around your waist and when she makes her comment point it out and tell her you're wearing it.

2. Try laying out and getting some sun in your front yard sometime! Not nude, but maybe just shirtless so you're not breaking any laws.

I live in one of the bloc of settlements in a big city. I'm trying to be less an lees self confident about being shirtless. Working out helps a lot. Summer is finally here and I'm shirtless a lot, specially at home. I usually do not walk around town without a T-shirt, but at home I always do. Now even when friends visit. But I do take the garbage out shirtless. Today I went to take my garbage out again, a lady with warned that walking shirtles around the town is not decent. Should I take her advice or just keep doing it my way. What would you do?

well, are youmale or female
if you are female definatly have a shirt on

That's just the way her mind works. I've been told to put a shirt on because of how I look now thats a self esteem crusher.

Truthfully, I'd probably come back with my favorite response to many situations or attitudes: "Whatever." She needs to go back to the 1800's, that's more her style. But seriously, who doesn't realize that it's socially accepted for males to be shirtless in public, expecially for the few seconds it takes to take out the garbage, for pete's sake??! I go around shirtless all the time in the summer cause i figure i've taken so much effort to get my physique the way i want it, who cares if i show it off. I say stay the course and congrats on making good gains in the weightroom.

Well, you're smart not to walk around your town without a t-shirt; most places will staunchly enforce their "no shoes, no shirt" policy, and sometimes it even be misconstrued as indecent exposure.

Now as for your being home, well you only walked your trash out,and got the notice of some of busy body old biddy who clearly can't mind her own fucking business. You did nothing wrong.
What is wrong with you. He is not talking about walking into a store. It is not indecent exposure and in NYC has been validated in court for both men and women.

Tell her to mind her own business. If I had been drinking I would have told her to fuck off.

You need to conform to the mores of your community.

If you live by the beach the shirt can come off. If you live in an area where there are conventions on propriety then you should stick to them.
not..all he was doing was taking his trash out.....so many puritans

1. Where the hell do you live that walking around town shirtless isn't "decent"?? This isn't the 1890's.

2. I would have told her loud mouth bitches that shoot their mouth off about things that aren't any of their effing business aren't decent. But that's just me.

3. If she were my neighbor, or passed my house at a certain time each day, I would now NEVER go outside with a shirt on, just to piss her off. Again, that's just the kind of bull-headed Taurus I am. People like that need to be opposed, not placated.

Ever since I was a little kid, I have hated to wear clothes. I first remember fighting with my mom when I was about 5 or 6. It was summer and I didn't want to wear a shirt. I am just more comfortable not wearing a shirt. It's not much better with pants but I understand the legal part of it. I fought with her up through my teens too. She would always tell me, "we are going out, put on a shirt". I always go shirtless around the house. I remember a park ranger yelling at me on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls for being shirtless. He said that it was against the law. I still question that so if any Canadians what to chime in I would be greatful. I have a couple of stringy little tank-tops that I keep for such occassions. I put them on and then go give the person a big smile.
