This is not the same old geo8x6 hooked on sex topic. I was reading my local newspaper and they had an article on "women and pornorgaphy". (San Jose Mercury News). They say that more and more women are buying and watching pornography. They stated that women watch both heterosexual and homosexual pornography and that 5% of women are developing an "online sexual compulsivity". So, to the women and men out there. Do you watch porn? What types? Does your significant other watch with you?

enchantinghungman: I don't watch much of it on video anymore - most of mine is online. I don't get too much out of actors or professional productions - what I enjoy seeing is real people having sex in their homes and submitting their pics online not for money but for fun - that's horny to me. And nearly all my previous girlfriends who would never dream of telling their girlfriends about it ended up getting very horny if they watched porn.

sammygirly: I have nothing against pornography, although I admit I'd rather read it than watch it. I have spent my share of hours watching the right videos however and don't have any issues if my man happens to have it around the house.

Everything is acceptable in moderation and as long as it doesn't replace the real thing - I'm all for it. ;D

Oh, by the way, I have meet a number of women who watch and enjoy porno. I know of one who gets off on BDSM videos. I know one who loves "Lexington Steel" videos. I just meet one who likes to watch gay (man on man) and gang bangs. I myself watch all types (except animal and underage). I have seen some kinky european ones.

awellhungboi: I don't have anything against porn, although I look at or watch hardcore very rarely. I find it too clinical and don't feel attracted to a lot of the performers. I like softcore, though, and erotica (especially vintage), nudes, etc. Usually if I'm horny and at the Video Store I'll get like a '50's or '60's sleaze/exploitation film. Radley Metzger, for instance. Or '70's softcore, like the Story of O. Anything with beautiful naked women, smiling, I'm there.

Many of my girlfriends have been interested in, or turned-on by porn. Although there seemed to be some sort of taboo about them admitting it. One of my ex's, though, used to always tell me about how she planned to make and star in her own--and I expect to see that she's done it any day now--and I expect she'd be a hit too. Another woman I dated was very sexual and would get turned on by just about any depiction of sex in any movie. PG, R, or X. She was great. We'd watch some of those 'erotic thrillers' on Cinemax, and she'd be ready to go!

TragicWhiteKnight: As I've mentioned before, I generally avoid pornography (so it's not just the women); cheesecake/pin-up stuff is far more attractive to me.

I did read a (mildly) interesting book (from the 80s) on this called 'Bad Girls And Dirty Movies' (or something similar), which was a feminist attempt to liberate porn; some chapters are patently absurd but there's a couple of good arguments in there (and one really unnecessary story about a bisexual orgy..)

GreenEyes: I do not watch it that frequently on my own. If somebody I am comfortable decides to watch I will and will enjoy it too. Just ask my panties.

As far as addicted to the whole sexual revelations of online my answer would be YUP in my scenerio.

Yowsers: the only ones i tend to watch and always w/ a woman i'm dating if she is into it are the films of Candida Royalle that she's directed. I don't own any, but I've rented several. They seem so more erotic and sensual and not so overtly exploitive towards women.

wvalady1968: Some of the posts here are very hot and arousing. So I guess that means I'm into erotica?

There are some very well made pornos that have story lines and good acting. I am sure that your local video store has a "couples" section to browse. Think about thoses romantic novels with penetration...very hot!

gigantikok: Yea, the stuff with class really jumps out to me. I love softcore porn with very little penis/vagina contact filmed. It seems foreign to me. I don't want to be seeing someone else's ugly penis make contact with a vagina, i want to be able to imagine mine! However, i love breasts soooo much, i'd watch 'em anyday. So, i'll either download softcore off of kazaa, or watch it on Cinemax, but that's generally it.

Oh, and I can understand how written erotica would be more of a turn on for you, Sammy. Sex is so much more emotional then visual for women. I still think porn is mostly a guy thing. If men didn't exist (which is impossible, but just humor me) then porn would have never come into existence either.

SpeedoGuy: My experience has been that few women are interested in mainstream porn. I can understand why. So many common porn flicks are just shallow visual fantasies and the plots are too amateurish to be taken seriously.

What is interesting to me is when women do admit they are stimulated by basic visual porn. Its been rare, but I find it very exciting when a woman reveals she is turned on by it.

The most notable time this happened to me was soon after high school graduation. A platonic girlfriend I had never dated shocked me when she revealed she enjoyed porn. Porn was something I didn't think women were interested in at all. We had several discussions about what she found stimulating about it and she eventually asked me to join her in watching a porn flick. I sat through the entire film with a woody so stiff it hurt but it stayed platonic then and afterwards.

aussiechick63: I enjoy porn. I think it can have a place in any relationship as long as both are happy to watch.
I was in a porn shop about two weeks ago and I was the only female in there. I was even a little embarrassed by it. But I still spent my time looking for some good stuff. I don't mind what sort it is, gay, lesbian, group stuff. If it's well done I enjoy watching.
