^And the US was robbed by the ref against Slovenia. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Since they don't believe in using video replays, the refs simply can't see everything happening. The field was at that moment littered with player violations by both teams. Not that it makes the call hurt less. Just wish he'd been looking at a Slovenian at the time.

And England? Wayne Rooney was very sleepy!

If there are tons of violations by BOTH sides, why wouldn't he just let them play unless something was blatant? From what I've been reading- TV commentators in several countries were astounded- none could see what violations the ref was calling. Also, from what I read, this was the first world cup game this ref has called- which begs the question- why wasnt a more experienced ref on the field, and why in hell doesn't soccer have more than one ref? It's mind-boggling.

^Going on this same theme- the lack of ref accountability is probably a big reason why soccer is relatively unpopular in the US- all our major sports have more than one ref on the field/court/rink- and all have instant replay as part of the game.

Wow... England's squad this year is coached and manned by a bunch of tossers!

A nil - nil draw versus Algeria???
Kinda seems Capello is feeling the heat more than his players - and turned very defensive/negative both in team selection and strategy. Neither of which you can afford to do in a major tournament.

What a rubbish result. :frown1:

As I said in the other thread in the Politics forum- this conclusively proves you live in a fading country. Hahah- just kidding
