Gyan's goal was awesome. The Yanks mounted a legit comeback, but Ghana was fleeter of foot, even if Boetenga's goal was more due to sloppy US defense, rather than offensive skill. Germany-England promises to be good as well.

Apparently they are also playing football at World Homoerotica 2010.

I wonder how many guys featured in the Nike and Adidas commercials will still be playing come Wednesday. I set the over/under at 3.

So happy that either Villa or Ronaldo will be gone by then too:biggrin1:

I think it will be the cheat Ronaldo who will be going home. Luis Figo, he is not. Spain look to have so much more strength in depth, if they care to use it.

But their defense sucks. One good defender out of the lot of them

A clear England goal to equalise 2-2 at half time was DISALLOWED.

It was clearly a goal for all to see. Pathetic

This is why goal-line technology must be used. It makes a joke out of the game.

If FIFA has any hope of ever "taking over" the USA, they need to do something about the officiating. Americans are used to technology, instant replay, and officials explaining decisions and possibly getting overruled.

I agree. Maybe they should have someone standing behind each goal with a button they can press when the ball goes through- making a light on top of the goal go off. This is how they do it in the NHL (National Hockey League) here in the States/Canada.

Well, its all automated in hockey, so I imagine they could put sensors on the goal and a chip in the ball, and an indicator light to flare up when the whole ball crosses the whole line. Botched offsides calls...how are you going to replay the ones where play continues? Review on the next stoppage of play? I can see FIFA's reluctance there.

Also, FIFA's making enough money to not give a fuck if the US embraces football. So what if 250 million (out of 300mill) don't embrace the sport? The rest of the world does. Plus, plenty of US companies give money thru sponsorship anyway, so they already have their profitable foothold in the US.
