It was great to be part of such an amazing tournament! We enjoyed having all the world to come party in our wonderful country....
The atmosphere here in South Africa the last month can only be described as electric and positive.
Plenty of sexy hung fans around too !

Soon this soccer thing will be over with and we can get back to baseball.

That's the game we call rounders in the UK, which is only played at school during the summer, as a bit of fun. Nobody takes it seriously here. There are no rounders stadiums (or baseball stadiums for that matter).

You did a good job.

I enjoyed it, and best of all were the funky fonts, used for the name of each stadium on the advertisement hoardings, hehehe.

If you think there was "quality" in this game, then we both must have watched entirely different games.
8 goals in this whole World Cup for Spain........some make more in one or 2 games.
They play all defensive and annoy the other team and then, pretty much at the end of the game, somehow sneak in one goal.
That's not great or high quality soccer.

It is true that Spain has had problems to score.

But, excepting Honduras, all teams have played closed inside their own field. [Even Germany, and that was a big sorrow because that match could have been a great one between two great national teams.] It is very difficult to play against a wall and score lots of goals.

It is true, aswell, that this match has been bad. Holland didn't try to play and let play, they just tried to drive spaniards crazy as they do with brassilian players. The front-kick De Jong 'shooted' on Xabi Alonso's chest was a shame. That has nothing to do with football. But worse was the referee's reaction.

Anyway, the best team in the championship has won. Germany should have been the other finalist, but...

Congrats to Forlan and to South Africa.

I totally agree with you. I have been living in the USA for the last year, but I cam back specifically for the world cup. I have never been much of a soccer fan, but I am now completely addicted. I went to a few matches, and soaked up the atmosphere and basically made the most of it. I also developed a supreme hatred for Suarez, but that's all part of the game. And it's great to see people saying so many awesome things about my country, so thanks, you have no idea how much it means.

Cheers all!!!

It depends where you are. I live in a flat complex that has a few guys from india, and often during the summer we go play a bit on the baseball field or in the park or something.

Nonsense. There is actually quite a healthy cricket scene in the USA. (USA Cricket Association | Associate member of International Cricket Council)

And there's a dedicated cricket ground (not a stadium! it's a cricket ground) in Florida.

Although one of the lovely things about cricket is you can play it on virtually any flat green space. You just need to measure out the wicket, set the boundaries and you're done.

So neener, neener, neener! :wink::tongue:

I, personally, am thrilled with Spain's victory. No matter how one tries to analyze it, Spain still won.

However, some day I would like Mexico to win. Mexico has so little to hang onto these days that winning the World Cup would put a smile on the entire country for a whole year. And for a country where the population works so hard (10+ hour days, six days a week) and receives so little, I can't think of a better country to enjoy their moment in the sun.

But first, they need to get rid of the corrupt inbred ownership/management and be free to recruit the best players in the world without the Mexican MAFIA interfering.
