You are right... sinze 2006 i hate italy (as a football team). About suarez, its out of question that they have to send him back home.
But what he did seams to be part of the uruguayian game, they always playd very brutal. At the world championchip in 1966, the coach of uruguay gave the order zo a player to make sure that uwe seeler would have to leave the feeld. The player instantly moved to him and dlaped uwe in his face... uwe didnt react and moved away, only tge player of uruguay had to leave the feeld

He cheated last world cup, cheats this world cup, probably will the next one too. And hopefully he will for the scousers too in the coming season. Ban the buck toothed, racist, Freddie Mercury look a like cheat.

Funny
lawyer speak ..

There is a possibility that they ban him, because there are precedents, but we're convinced that it was an absolutely casual play, because if Chiellini can show a scratch on one shoulder, Suarez can show a bruised and almost shut eye," Balbi said.

"If every player starts showing the injuries he suffers and they open inquiries for them everything will be way too complicated in the future. We're going to use all the arguments possible so that Luis gets out in the best possible way."

England weren't even disappointing, just not good enough. I don't know anyone who thinks England could and should have done better.
Yeh.

Obviously I hoped they'd pull something out the bag, but I'd resigned myself to not being bothered since it was very unlikely.

I think... we need to adjust the balance between club and country over the next several years. Premiership takes absolute precedence, and I'm not sure it's a favourable situation. Players are prevented from attending friendlies by their club managers; premiership players have too many games to play to fit in national commitments (although that would apply to foreign stars in the premiership too - who don't seem to have been affected by this) - and we train/employ too many foreign players in the premiership which stifles home-grown talent.

We're a victim of our own football league's success?

As soon as I saw the draw for the group, I knew 3rd was the best we could hope for.

Surely not given the way it played out?

I think they were better than Italy until they absolutely gassed out in Manaus. Were right there with Uruguay, and are obviously a more talented (read: NOT better, as the group proved) team than Costa Rica.

I'd say it was a letdown that they didn't advance, but it's also not a travesty because nobody expected anything from England in the knockouts.

That said, this was the first time in forever that England went out playing positive football...in my opinion.

All I want is for either Colombia or Chile to win it all. I am praying they (Chile) come out hair on fire and blitz Brazil...they certainly can, though their weaknesses could be devastating against them, especially on set pieces.

I don't see how you think he cheated this time around. Sure, the bite was totally scummy, but not in any way cheating.

To be fair, my perspective is relatively biased. I very much want Colombia to win, but I want them to smack down a full powered Uruguay, not some mash unit similar to the Costa Rica shitshow.

Also, the handball in 2010 was a great move. Anyone who wouldn't do the same isn't a true competitor. He fell on a sword for the benefit of his team...which allowed them to win. Obviously not condoning the biting, but that's the kind of attitude I'd want from all 11 people on the field for my team...and certainly the kind of teammate I'd want.

Sorry, but i have to disagree. If you cant win with a good sportsmen spirit you better lose.
But sutch bahaviour is a shame for the whole team.
The netherlands still have to deal that rijkaards spits on rudy völler.
The english never won a titel past 1966 and every german would tell you its the perfect punishment.
Argentinas last world titel was in 1986... the hand of god... and they deserve not to win again

Uruguay always playd a very hard, if not unfair foodball... and they deserve to win nothing since 1950

Maybe this was mentioned already: US v Portugal. I'm hearing lots of praise for how well US played.

But not hearing anything about how Port. were one man down. So what's the opinion here? Was US really playing well, better than expected? Or how much did the 11th man's absence mean?

I'd agree with this. Tbh, I'd prefer if they continued, and grew, with this attitude, rather than reverting to their usual stifling paralysis and apathy.

Weirdly enough - most English would agree with you, despite 1966. We're beginning to wonder if we're too naive by not falling over, or pretending to be fouled all the time, like other teams. But... if you can't win properly, don't win at all, imo.

And if you can't win without cheating - learn to improve, so you can. :)

I have yet to see a picture of Suarez' teeth in the guy, nor a medical report saying that the marks on Chiellini were caused by his rather large teeth. I would keep kangaroo courts for kangaroos.

@Perados, what do you think of Herr Muller's feigning a serious head injury? IMO the German team have been guilty of some of the worst simulation and gamesmanship for years. Klinsman was balletic in his day.

And finally, did you see that two thirds of Switzerland's squad are not Swiss and not one of their goalscorers is, yet they keep voting to get rid of foreigners? Nothing like a bit of world cup success to soften the double standards.

You may have seen all the blood in Müller's face at the end of the ghana game... i doubt he could feigned it. And what would have been his benefit? He never said it was a foul, it was an accident.
Or are you talking about the portugal game? In this case Müller never clamed to have an injury... he just was angry cause pepe hit him with the head. The red card was justified

About klinsmann... i never liked him

I know about the swiss national team. At the time of the vote a photoshoped picture was around. The titel was "nationalteam one immigration" you only saw 3 players...
Sure its a double standard, just like cameron and ukip wants it for britain
