A pill to give someone a sex drive is an entirely different issue for men or women. Even guys who can't get an erection still have a sex drive.

And vice versa. An ex of mine could get hard really easily but had almost no sex drive. So viagra wouldn't help him. Maybe this pill for women would.

I don't think an erection is really the equivalent of a sex drive. So viagra and this pill for women are really addressing completely different issues - and not male/female specific ones.

That drug looks too dangerous and too ineffective for me to ever try it, from the facts given in that particular article. I don't blame the FDA for giving it a "thumbs down."

However, on the broader philosophical question of whether I approve of such a drug, one that is both safe and effective, yes I do. Obviously it wouldn't be a solution for all women with low sex drives, but if it helped some women out, I see no ethical problems with it. Many women want a higher sex drive. If a woman doesn't want a higher sex drive, she has the option of just not taking the drug.

I do not need it now. My sex drive is already high, but that may change as I age or after I have children. If there was a safe and effective available drug, I would try it.
