And for women like Marilyn Monroe, J-Lo, Beyonce etc. They have ranged anywhere between a size 6-14 throughout various stages of their career's and these are all beautiful healthy women. I think everyone's outrage on this thread is because of what some people consider "fat" when these women are not fat, they are healthy. The intial question asking if someone would be with a fat chick should have been clarified as to what the OP thinks is fat.

I think its because so many of us have been called or referred to as fat around that same size I'm an inch taller and 5pds heavier and have been called "fine but fat".... I'll admitt it bothered me for about 5 minutes, then I got over it and moved on. But I didn't forget it. Things that people say can still hurt your feelings even if you feel good about yourself.

Personally I don't think your fat until you can't keep up with other healthy people. BMI aside everyone has a different build.

I think the focus on dress size is misguided. What makes MM and girls like her physically attractive to men is not her dress size or her weight (both of which most guys would be clueless about), it is her curves - big boobs, big butt, narrow waist. NOT big boobs, big butt, big waist.

I understand that I don't think most men have a clue what we weigh or what we wear. I was just stating facts. A size 14 is considered a PLUS size AKA the girls in the Lane Byrant commericals which a lot of people have gone on to argue about her being "fat" or "not fat"

How much do we really know about MM's size and shape. I read somewhere that she was a 34-24-34. Was that a size 16 during her time?

It seems as if men's magazines work hard at keeping the fantasy. I once read an Esquire artcle which states that Anna Nicole Smith weighed 135 pounds. Really? Those jugs, that hiegh (5'11"). Glamour magazine reported that she weighed as much as 204 pounds.

There's a lot of noise out there and people need to learn to tune it out.

Exactly!....and she was also apparently a drug user,that must have contributed to her figure.If it meant using drugs to wittle the waist/body down i don't know any woman who would....i certainly wouldnt nor would any of my daughters should they felt the need to slim down.

All this talk of corsets and spanx just confirms my point that waist:hip ratio is what's important when the male mind assesses the attractiveness of a female figure.

Weight and dress sizes are female preoccupations that conflate the issue and often mislead women. This is how you have a woman like ConstantComment being told she is fat by other women when her waist:hip of 0.66 would have made men's eyes bulge out of their sockets.

Do I consider 5'6" 140 fat, no, but not my ideal. My wife was 5'6" and 110 when we met. She was athletic and in shape. After 5 years 125. I would rather have an a-cup girl who was in shape than a d-cup who was 20 pounds heavier.

American women are getting fatter every year. In my office of over 1000 there were at least 15 women who were less than 6 feet tall and weighed over 300 pounds. Now that is fat. There must have been 100 who were over 200.

The average height is 5'4" and the average weight is about 145.

I've read that too now that I looked somemore, I shouldn't have included MM in my info. since no one can say what size she wore. And at this point I've decided I just don't care. I just want to be happy with me and I hope those around me are happy with themselves as well
