Tis why I mentioned genetics. Of course there will be scenarios where it's the only option such as that one, but I think for vanity reasons, it's a bit dumb. Say you want to lose 10 or 20 lbs just to look good for summer, or you don't like the nose you were born with or other small nitpicky things like that. But whatever, it's not my money and not my face so to each their own.

I had to have reconstructive plastic surgery after a terrible automobile accident. Would I do it as elective surgery? I'm not really sure... I know a few people who have had amazing work done, and I know people who look like cartoon characters after the work. It's one of those bridges I'll have to cross if I ever feel unhappy with my appearance. I have to laugh that the two youngest people who have posted in this thread think that diet and exercise will fight the hands of time! Call me when you are 40 kids!

I want liposuction because of the way I gain and lose weight, not because of simply "needing to drop a few pounds". If I had the money for the surgery, I'd also have money to join a gym. I'd do both. I'd have the liposuction because I gain weight in the middle and don't really have a waist. I want a waist!!! Then I'd join the gym to tone up all over. As for diet, that's a hard one because I hate being hungry and I hate to cook. If I had filling, low calorie meals that I didn't have to cook, and that tasted good (they do exist! One of the gyms here has a cafe and their food is awesome!), I could do that.

And I'd have a boob job (stem cell, not implants) because I want big boobs! Can't get that from diet or exercise - that'd just make my boobs even smaller!

Yep... 40 something here and I can attest to that!

Maybe Rhino Plasty for me. But that is a BIG maybe. I almost like the imperfection. I want to be considered cute/ handsome, but not pretty. Look at Owen Wilson Vs. Brad Pitt.

I'd do it for myself and no one else. Other people's opinions about how I look don't really matter. The only thing that does is how I feel about myself.

So yeah if I had the $$ I'd laser, suck, and tuck. But I don't so I'll keep working out and anyone who doesn't like the way I look doesn't have to look at me!

blessed with olive skin... it don't wrinkle much and it don't get all washed out and palid with age.

Getting sparser and sparser on top... but would not consider getting a rug, nor transplants, nor would I be bothered with the expense and mess of rogaine...

wear glasses, but given my career, can not risk lasik..

Going gray in the beard rapidly... if I shaved I would look 40... but I can't be bothered to shave daily, and I can be bothered to dye it...

When it comes down to it... stay trim, keep active enough not to get crippled up, stooped or funny walking... dress appropriately and modestly in clothing that flatters you ( i.e. knock it of with the Tshirts you middle aged men... grow up ) keep the nose and ear hair knocked back, and try not to look like you want people to think your 'youthful'... no fucking ponytails on 50 year old men... no fake tans... and go fucking easy on the teeth whitening...

It is possible to age gracefully. There is nothing wrong with wrinkles if they show you spent your life laughing.
you deserve the face you have at 50.

Have had hair transplants several times over the past 22 years and am pretty happy with the result...considering botox and/or fillers to deal with deep lines around eyes (too much sun when younger)....but anything major? Don't think I'd consider it.

I think it's better to work on the inside than have work done on the outside. If you're happy and confident it will show and work better than surgery for most people.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Call me vain but I'd love to have some work done. First would be the boobs. Hubby is against a reduction (me too, kinda) but I'd love to have them lifted. Then I'd do my eyes, upper arms and maybe something around the tummy. I wish my legs were prettier but I don't think I'd do anything with them... yet.

I would, but I would wait untill I'm a bit older.

My breast are too far apart for my liking, and I'd love to have them a bit bigger so that it would look more fitted for my body, and I'd love to have my nose slightly smaller. A good clinic is very expensive though, and I wouldn't settle for anything less. But the simple fact is that right now there are too many ways I'd rather use the money and it's no priority. But I'm pretty sure within ten years I'd be going under the knife.

I'd never get lipo on places I could lose the fat on a traditional way, because it seems rather pointless to undergo so much pain for something that will just come back if you don't change your lifestyle (which wold have got rid of it in the first place)... If that makes any sense.I wouldn't do too much with my face too, seeing it sounds terrifying not to recognize yourself in the mirror..

I had the flap & zap done on my eyes a couple years back. According to my insurance carrier, it was a cosmetic procedure...I had to pay for 100% of it out of pocket.

Best few grand I ever spent.

I'm pretty blessed with good skin, so I wouldn't do anything with that. And I like the shape of my body even if I'm not rail thin so nothing there either. But I guess I do think about having my breasts lifted, and laser hair removal as well. Lasik isn't an option for me -- I was informed I'd still need corrective eyewear even after a few sessions for each eye so why bother.
